Amazing intricate book!
Great book for all readers. I am normally a mystery, love story kind of reader but this book did not disappoint. It has touched base on so many hard aspects of everyday life. Never would I have imagined a magic of trapping someone in their own mind and what they will find but WOW the creativity!! As you read more and more pieces fit together perfectly to form the perfect story. Also, so many characters have their own voice and distinct personality, can’t say enough great things. Looking forward to the rest of the books!

    I started reading this book about three weeks ago and binged the second half in about 2 days. I absolutely loved the character development, the vivid themes, and the depth to her story. It is definitely not a cookie cutter plot, and the morally complex characters make her debut novel a powerful, dark fantasy. I'm definitely look forward to the sequel!

    The beginning was a slow read took me a few days to read 50 pages but after that I couldn’t put the book down! Definitely a good read and excited for the next book!

    Bound by Blood and Shadow is a really good read! It can sometimes be hard to find new ideas in a genre as beloved and oft-traveled as fantasy, and I think L. R. Bryant does an excellent job bringing some fresh material to the table in a story that does a lot of things really well.

    Bryant introduces a cast of compelling characters and explores some all-too-relatable dark places of the human psyche, and also provides a wonderful dose of adventure and worldbuilding. From a system of magic that doesn't feel quite like anything I've read before to an ever-shifting collection of fantastic biomes and gnarly creatures, you can tell Bryant put in the work to build and artfully share a well fleshed-out reality.

    There are elements of a portal fantasy any Narnia fan will appreciate, but the darker, adult tone clearly sets Bound and Blood and Shadow apart as its own type of beast. The stakes are high, the issues are real, and I think Bound by Blood and Shadow is a heck of a debut novel from a talented indie author. I'm very excited to see where Bryant takes us with the rest of this trilogy and beyond!

    I received this book as an ARC reader and I fell in love with it. I love Narnia, and have been hard pressed to find a book that immerses me in a fantastical world like it did, but Bound By Blood and Shadow did it! As an adult fantasy, it hits all the dangerous situations, the inner demons, and the hints at love I adore in fantasy. This book also has a gorgeous world with creatures that dazzle and awe too. Lenora, the MC, finds herself riding into another world with her trusty horse Shadow. Together they try to find the best way to survive until a few friendlies take them under their wing. With anxiety and panic, Lenora has to fight her inner demons while she comes to terms with living in this new world, with new powers, and an evil that threatens to destroy her and all living things. Follow Lenora as she figures out what to do!

    Loved the writing style of this book. Everything flowed smoothly with the story. Characters were believable and well thought out. If your a fantasy lover you will love this book.
