IC5: Danish testing complete – now on to the next chapter 🚆🔧 After months of successful on-track testing in Denmark, the new IC5 trains have completed the first local phase of their journey. Next stop: Salzgitter, where Alstom teams will carry out targeted modifications based on the test results. From there, the IC5 units will continue with reliability runs in tests centres across Europe, collecting valuable mileage. But they’ll be back. Further testing in Denmark awaits before the trains are ready to welcome passengers next year. Trains need saunas and ice baths too! ☀️❄️ Fresh out of an intensive climate chamber in Vienna, this Coradia Max double‑deck train has endured everything from +40 °C heat to −25 °C blizzards, as part of a four week test campaign to ensure reliable operation throughout the seasons. We’ll be delivering a total of 156 of these trains to the Landesanstalt Schienenfahrzeuge Baden-Württemberg and of these tests mark an important milestone on the way to the start of passenger operations. #ClimateChamber #RegionalTrains

What if trains could ‘see’? 👀 The ARTE project, short for Autonomous Regional Train Evolution - is one of our latest projects in Germany and is teaching existing trains to "see" the world around them. Cameras and smart software help them read signals, recognise what’s ahead and keep a smooth, steady rhythm. If something unexpected appears, an operator can instantly take over.
