Wild Soul

In the expansive wildernesses of the Bright Wylds, bursts of radiant energy collide and coalesce in a dazzling dance of creation. From these cosmic intersections, wild souls are born, beings formed from the joyous clash of countless benevolent spirits. Each wild soul is a living testament to the harmonious chaos from which they emerge, embodying the vibrant, unbound essence of life itself. Unfettered by the constraints of order and discipline, they move through the world with an infectious zest for freedom and exploration, their very existence a celebration of individuality and spontaneous kindness.

Tapestry Of Countless Spirits

Wild souls are a living canvas, painted with the traits of innumerable spirits. Their forms are a wondrous blend of diversity, with no two wild souls looking quite the same.

Some are tall and willowy, while others are compact and wiry. Skin tones might shift like the hues of dawn, eyes sparkle with the light of distant stars, and hair flows like rivers of color. This kaleidoscopic nature is not just skin-deep; it is a reflection of the myriad souls within them. With a mere thought, they can weave illusions, altering their appearance to mirror one of their inner spirits or a blend of several, making them ever-changing but always new.

Freedom Incarnate

The spirit of a wild soul is as effervescent and diverse as their form. They are beings of pure spontaneity, driven by an insatiable curiosity and an innate desire to spread joy and kindness. Their communities, if they can be called that, are gatherings of like-minded free spirits, where rules are suggestions and every day is a new adventure. In these vibrant enclaves, stories are shared, songs are sung, and dances erupt without warning, all in celebration of the beautiful chaos that is life. Alongside their anarchic nature, wild souls possess a deep-seated empathy and an unwavering commitment to doing good, guided by the collective wisdom of the souls within them.

Witp Sout Traits

As a wild soul you have the following traits:

  • Ability Score Increase. Each of your ability scores increases by 1.
  • Age. Wild souls are ‘born’ at an age somehow determined by the souls joined together to create the wild soul. Some wild souls first emerge as young as a 4-year-old human while others first see life as an elder. After being created, wild souls age as quickly as humans but live to be slightly older. They often live to an apparent human age of 100 but given the nature of their creation this could be as many as 90 years of life or as few as just a few seasons.
  • Size. Your size is Medium.
  • Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
  • Changing Visage. You can cast the disguise self spell once with this trait, regaining the ability to do so when you finish a short or long rest. When you cast it in this way, it lasts until you use a bonus action to dismiss it or until you cast it again. You don’t need spellcasting components to cast this spell, and you can choose Wisdom or Charisma as your spellcasting ability for it. Wild souls usually use this to take on the appearance of one of their constituent souls or a combination of multiple resident souls, though you are not limited to those options.
  • Kludge of Knowledge. Even you are surprised by the assortment of knowledge and experiences your conglomerated soul possesses. When you make an ability check that doesn’t include your proficiency bonus, if you roll an even number on the d20, roll 1d4 and add it to the result of the ability check.
  • Supportive Souls. Your communal souls rally together to help you overcome adversity when you are harried. When you fail a saving throw, you can use your reaction to reroll the saving throw and use either result. You can do so once, regaining the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.
  • Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and three languages of your choice.

Wild Soul Variants

Wild souls are widely varied creatures that exhibit many different appearances and abilities across the population.

Free Spirits Rather Than Guides. Your constituent souls are more concerned with helping you move freely than sharing experiences with you. Your base walking speed is 35 feet. This trait replaces the Speed and Kludge of Knowledge traits.

Magical Gifts. The souls roiling within you work together to grant you wondrous magical talents rather than exceptional fortitude. You learn two cantrips of your choice from the cleric, druid, or sorcerer spell lists. You can choose Wisdom or Charisma as your spellcasting ability for these spells. This trait replaces the Supportive Souls trait.

Small and Wiry. Your body is smaller and more wiry than other wild souls. Your size is small and you have advantage on Dexterity (acrobatics) checks to escape being grappled by creatures larger than you.
