For those that don't know -- the Babe Of The Year tournament is a bloody, horrible deathmatch. Really, it's just an excuse to attempt to sway people into finding the woman you love the most attractive. Or at least more attractive than Candice Michelle. And honestly, girls, don't be homophobic. It's perfectly natural to be able to gauge other girl's attractiveness -- it's evolution, baby.

The rules are simple -- vote for you're favorite girl of the year. Personally, I find "Diva of the Year" to be best-all woman in her field.
So, I'm really sorry about the delay -- but the rules do say that the next polls will be up in approx. 3 days..... But, yes, I was distracted by the World Series and all the shiny that comes with it. Bad fan, bad, I know. There are only two polls tonight in order to finish this round -- so you better vote right. And often. Yes, it started before and went longer then April Fools. A good prank is like fine wine, you have to give it time to ripen. Just ask Bret Hart.

I did it to get people to participate, to think outside the box when making the posts they normally would, to show some creativity. Some passed with flying colors. It warmed the cockles of my old heart. Even if you took away the comlaints (some of which were in the form of a battle rap) we still had more participation then we've had in months, not counting some of my fellow mods ranting to themselves.

Nobody was banned at all, nothing was done except a frozen comment in posts that didn't participate, and as a matter of fact the community was changed to open status, so more members joined. Everything has been restored to the way it was, so people can stop being butt hurt about it.

Now on to a great Wrestlemania!

The Announcement that will Change the WWE Livejournal Universe Forever

Hello, Dr. Vincent Kennedy McMahon here, and I have a very important announcement to make, one that will shock the very core of the wrestling world.

You see, during my healing time, I monitored my product, both on tv and online, and I have to say, it has gotten stagnant. With the appointing of the newer mods, there has been less in fighting, and thus less controvery. Nobody hardly even bothers to post anymore. Controversy creates an entertaining community. Thus, I have decided to make some drastic changes.

For my first order of business, to the fellow mods, chotliwala, cojos_revenge, lowrider, ravensgurl211 and yhanos, otherwise known as the Kliq, for failing to keep the community entertaining -

YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU'RRRRRRRRRE FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRED

How is that for must read LJ? But no, my friends, no, it doesn't stop there, as I have an important announcement for you too.

wwe, for failing to post and for tuning out of the project -

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

have been sold out. That's right, I have sold wwe to the highest bidder. As I was sitting in my hospital bed, I was thinking, that in these hard economic times it is too risky to hold on to properties that aren't bringing in the cash flow - especially when the money that could have been used for a paid account could be used for that Pussycatdoll's...erm...services after Mania finishes up. So I sold my mod status to a fine young gentlemen. I am not at liberty to discuss his identity yet, but power has been turned over to him, and he is working feverishly on the new wwe.
Sorry to be posting again - but I thought people might appreciate this. Journalist Keith Olbermann has named JBL as the "Worst Person in the World" today - in his capacity as a Fox Business analyst. (Olbermann didn't mention wrestling at all, and, in fact, got his middle initial wrong - C instead of B.) It's largely because of JBL's new energy drink....

April 17: John C. Layfield works as an on-air stock analyst for the Fox Business Network and is also the driving force behind “Mama-juana Energy,” a berry-flavored juice positioned as a herbal remedy that promotes sexual endurance.

Article/Interview with Rob Van Dam from the October Skywatch.
RVD and Christy Hemme are among a few celebrity guests appearing at the Armageddon Pulp Expo.

[[okay, i think i will go this year xD]]
ROB VAN DAM COMES TO NZ
By Andy Burt

He's held numerous titles in the WWE and ECW, stunned frenzied arenas into silence with his acrobatic feats, made commentators gasp for superlatives - and now one of the most gidted, extreme and exciting professional wrestlers of all time is coming to New Zealand.

Former WWE superstar Rob Van Dam spoke exclusively to SKYWATCH ahead of his trip here for this month's Armageddon Pulp Expo - a three day extravaganza of all things pop-culture including comic books, celebrity appearances and live wrestling.

Since making his debut as a teenager, audiences the world over have been captured by Van Dam's high-flying wrestling style and eye-catching signature move the 'Van Daminator' - where he spins in mid-air and heel-kicks a chair into his opponent.

"A match is an exhibition of fighting skills and moves. I prefer matches that allow me to showcase my talents, which include hardcore elements," Van Dam says. "If it's a ladder match or a hardcore match that's where I feel like I shine - that's where I'm happiest."

As an aspiring wrestler, Van Dam says he was influenced by wrestlers who would put their body on the line to entertain the crowd.

"I noticed the guys that were different. The big, heavy, slow guys that were barely picking their feet up didn't impress me," he says. "But guys like leaping Lanny Poffo and the Blue Blazer impressed me - I thought they were working harder to entertain the crowd. Although I never tried to be like anybody, I was definitely inspired by those entertainers.

One of Van Dam's most memorable and satisfying achievements during his time in the WWE was the way he changed fans' perception of the 'hardcore title'.

"When I came along the hardcore title was a joke. They were having fights in the taco stand on in the bathroom doing something stupid," Van Dam says. "But I added prestige and credibility to the title by putting on outstanding matches and main-eventing live events."

This month's trip Down Under will be Van Dam's second visit to New Zealand after appearing in WWE's Road to Wrestlemania tour in Auckland and Christchurch earlier this year.

"I'm looking forward to coming back - it's a beautiful country, the people are all so nice and it's great to get off a 12-hour flight and still have the people speak the same language as you!"

And as for a return to the squared circle, Van Dam is tight-lipped.

"I won't be lacing up the wrestling boots for at least the next few months, but fans watch this space - RVD will be out with an announcement soon.</div>

Something that probably would have had me laughing a week ago is now one of the saddest things I've seen:

<lj-embed id="53" />

Besides this .. how do you think now you are going to view Benoit .. regardless of wheather the WWE is going to sweep him under the rug or not.

Will you see him as a great man with unlimited ability to wrestle and entertain who at the very end made the worst mistake/choice anyone can, something that is absolutely unforgivable but is an act in it's own which you hold seperate to the rest of his life.

Or is he a monster who now has had his entire career/reputation tarnished forever, was he just like this under the surface and it finally exploded.

Personally I'm going for the first choice. I won't forget how much fun it was watching Benoit win the Rumble and then making HHH tap at wrestlemania, and I won't forget sitting in awe watching his matches with Angle. These are very fond memories that no one will take away from me, not even Chris Benoit himself. Whatever happend last weekend is an act in itself that was just disgusting. But when I watch a dvd from years past like his battle with Jericho at the Royal Rumble, I won't watch it going "there is Chris Benoit, the child murderer". At that point in time I truely believe he was not who he was last weekend. Even watching the celebrations of Wrestlemania XX with Nancy and Daniel in the ring, that was all pure emotion, pure love.

To me there are 2 Chris Benoits, one i'll always love and one I'll always hate.

Nitro and Melina, along with Kenny Dykstra, and Carlito – among countless others – fought airline delays, cancellations and even flat tires to make their WWE appearances.

“Before driving from Reno to Sacramento, Calif., we were told the roads were close, and we needed chains on the tires,” said Nitro. “I’ve never put chains on tires before, and had already paid 200 bucks for a hotel room, so Melina and I weren’t stopping.”

Nitro’s persistence didn’t exactly bode well with the hazardous weather and lack of knowledge about how to drive when chains are strapped on car tires.

“It was snowing so hard that I couldn’t even see ten feet in front of me. I was still going like 50 miles per hour,” he said. “Three hours into the drive we must have hit a rock or a person or an animal or something – hell if I know – but whatever it was, the back tire popped.”

And it didn’t get any easier for the Raw Superstar and his counterpart from there.

“I had to get out of my car in my business casual – which is pretty fly for anyone who knows Nitro – jack-up the car, rip the chains off and put the spare tire on. I was so cold I wanted to have a tow company deal with it, but I called and they said it would take two hours. I took the old, greasy tire and tossed it into the backseat. At this point I don’t even care about anything besides getting to the hotel. Finally, it was around 3 a.m., and we made it.”

Carlito was another Superstar that was given the runaround, which threw a wrench in his plans, and nearly caused him to miss his match on Feb. 24.

“My flight from Miami to Dallas got cancelled so I had to go through Charlotte,” said the Caribbean Superstar. “From there, I had to go from Charlotte to Phoenix, then my connection got in late, so I had to change my flight from Phoenix to Las Vegas, then again from Vegas to Reno [en route to Sacramento].”

But once he landed in Reno, he had more obstacles to tackle.

“Of course the roads were closed to get to Sacramento, so I had to take a flight from Reno to Oakland and drive from Oakland to Sacramento. Luckily, I made it in time for my match, but some others weren't so lucky.”

Former WWE Superstar and current WWE producer Dean Malenko saw the travel woes as an evil domino effect.

“The last two days were a WWE Raw sequel to Planes, Trains and Automobiles…with the exception of the train,” joked Malenko. “Once the dominoes started falling, they never stopped. It took some talent anywhere from eight to 10 hours to make it roughly 120 miles.”

But he said once he arrived at the arena, after all the mass confusion and clamoring around to find rides, airplanes and open roads, it was all worthwhile because of the WWE fans.

“There were 11,000 WWE fans at the event, and they had no idea how much effort it took for the Superstars to make the event. But that’s what we do.”

Some Superstars who weren’t fortunate enough to escape the weather’s debilitating effects were Shawn Michaels, Cryme Tyme and Kenny Dykstra, who all missed the show in Reno.

“I got stuck in Dallas,” said Dykstra. “I had to go from Dallas to Houston, where I made the best of it and went clubbing that night.”

But Kenny’s fun didn’t last too long, as his travel disasters were just getting started.

“The airport in Houston was packed, with lines out the door,” he said shaking his head. “My good old buddy George Washington helped me out though, and I got to the front of the line quick. So I got through security, and hopped on the air tran. Right when I saw my gate, the air tran just broke down," Dykstra continued. "Finally, the guy got up there and helped out. I’m the last one to board the flight, and I’m looking for my seat, and there is a big, fat lady dressed in red - like the Kool- Aid guy. She stole my trail mix when I went to sleep, and eyed me up as I ate my cereal.”

After being squished in his seat for the entire flight and keeping tabs on anything edible, Dykstra finally got to Oakland… but there’s more.

“In Oakland, I got lost and couldn’t find the rental car. It was a mess, but I was eventually able to make it to the show. Not on Saturday… I didn’t make that show."

</div>
Also: WWE.com has added a section for the history of the WCW title
