Adrienne Libby

Adrienne Libby, a smiling woman with her dark hair pulled back from her face

The WSSB Spotlight shines on Adrienne Libby, whose passion for high-quality braille and commitment to students is evident in everything she does. Because she did not always have access to the best braille materials growing up, she is dedicated to making sure today’s learners have the tools they need to succeed.

Adrienne also holds NLS literary and proofreading certifications, reflecting her dedication to accuracy and excellence in braille production. She shares her knowledge through presentations with the prison braille program and by hosting open hours, creating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and connection.

We’re grateful to have Adrienne as part of the WSSB community.

Project INSPIRE Mathlete Competition

What is a Mathlete Competition?

The Mathlete Competition provides an opportunity for braille readers in grades 6-12 to practice their math and braille skills! There are four rounds in the Mathlete Competition. The rounds are:

  • Sprint Round: Read a problem written in words and select the correct way to braille the problem from the 3 answer choices.
  • You Solve It Round: Read and solve a math problem using the order of operations.
  • You Write It Round: Listen to a math problem being read aloud and then braille the problem.
  • Relay Round: Solve a math problem and then plug the answer into the next problem.

Registration opens February 15th. For more information, please visit the Mathlete Competition website: Project INSPIRE Mathlete Competition.
