A Practice of Reverence
Poetry for your Christmas Eve & wishes for a very happy, healthy holiday
The below poem came tumbling out a couple of days ago while I was on a walk through the forests near my home. I was thinking about how my tendency is to reach for more more more, when I think what I really want, need, am dying for is more here. More deep presence. More bows of reverence.
My wishes for you this holiday season (and beyond) are spoken in the words of this new poem.
Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays. I am bowing with reverence to your beautiful humming heart.
The light in me bows to the light in you,
Julia xo

A Practice of Reverence
Maybe the only thing we ever need more of is more here. More poetry pouring through every window, more music seeping from every pore— more conversations with the trees, more snowflakes on the tongue, more skies full of maybe. Less rush, more relish— less yesterday, less tomorrow, less less less of everything that swallows the spark— more reverent bowing to every humming heart.
