WorkMatch Inspirations
We can do better
There is a darkened hallway in a factory, an office building, a warehouse where a backlit worker is mopping the floor at night. The person's face is hidden by silhouette. This worker is faceless because - except for a brief time during Covid - these workers are faceless in America. These workers are the founding inspiration of WorkMatch.
WorkMatch exists, not to speak for these workers, but to give them the tools to have a job that matches their dreams, their aspirations, their strengths. Workmatch understands the things that are too often taken for granted. How do I work and where will I thrive? What if my car won't start? What is the best job that matches my goals and aspirations? What training would get me to that job a year from now?
For employers, the premise is simple. A worker that is in a job that matches them is a worker more likely to thrive, and stay, in the job. Yet we expect employers to sort through personal challenges that defy social service organizations and government initiatives and make the right hire based on an interview?
In every community, there are organizations that provide support to everyday Americans just trying to make it. These organizations are already providing counseling, training, and upskilling. They are trying to get workers into jobs where they can be self-sufficient. Yet no tool exists to help them cut through the noise of resumes and job postings to understand the best job for a particular worker – and how can they help their clients get it?
The way things work now is too opaque, too disjointed, too confusing, too tedious. Why can't this be simpler? Why can't this be workmatch?
WorkMatch uses tech to match frontline, essential workers with the jobs that are the best fits for them. More at workmatch.com.
