The good news, it worked.
The bad news, it’s extremely limited with practically no configuration settings. You can’t even choose which posts to display.

I downloaded and installed the plugin, but found no configuration capabilities in the Widget section. Moreover, no thumbnails were displayed.
The typography is nice, but the date is shown above the title (very odd), and there appears to be no way to easily adjust the rendition.
I am using BuddyPress, so perhaps this is the reason no thumbnails are displayed?
