Cannot comment on a post

  I am signed in. I am trying to leave a comment under someone’s post. It’s showing my screen name and everything, so I am signed in. But when I try to comment, I keep getting the error, “Sorry, you must be logged in to comment.”

  I understand you’re having problems leaving a comment on somebody else’s site even if you’re logged in.

  There are a lot of reasons why this could be happening:

  • Your browser session isn’t persisting properly due to cookie issues – possibly caused by browser privacy settings, cookie blockers, or mismatched domains
  • If the site uses a caching plugin, it might be serving cached pages that don’t recognize the logged-in state.
  • A security or anti-spam plugin (like Akismet, Wordfence, or anti-spam plugins) is blocking the comment.
  • A custom theme or plugin has modified the comment form or authentication checks incorrectly.
