Just started Dragon Age Inquisition... and by "just started" I mean "I played some 30 hours already". And it is lovely, even though my computer just barely covers the basic specifications, so the gameplay is glacial.

So I just bought all the components for a new computer and went ahead and built it. I got a super sweet graphics card and everything is set up nicely. holy shit it looks amazing now and everything is so FAST. I can actually MOVE. \o/

I took ~~four~~ five days off to play; however, now I have to go back to work soon ):

So if I'm gone for months again... that's a pretty good bet where I'll be. Likewise, I'm also avoiding Tumblr like the plague at the moment, for I am sure it will be wrought with spoilers. Sadface.

I start all of my posts like this, haven't you noticed?

My life is, believe it or not, slightly less boring than usual! (shocking, i know!) You see, I have finally achieved gainful employment... that's right, actual sustainable income to finance my expensive habits of... uh... video games? ~~not like i have the time to play them with the aforementioned employment XD #irony~~

That said, I do have my priorities in order. I am planning to take about four days off in November to properly appreciate the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition ~~only 52 more sleeps! \o/~~. By that point, I should have finished Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney, so I shouldn't have anything in my way (I had planning to finish another run of DA2 before DA3 comes out... but i'm not sure how feasible that is anymore. we'll have to see).

Other than that, things are slowly settling into a routine of sorts... back to boringness. I'll try and talk to you lovlies more than once every three months /fail.

[edit] I think I need a good anime to watch right now. Sailor Moon every 2 weeks, while awesome, is leaving me wanting. Also, can we talk a little about the Mamoru/Usagi interaction vis-a-vis the original?

Ok I know I'm still not posting as frequently as I should be, I swear I'm just not a very interesting person. XD

Recently, however, I have a much better reason. As of Tuesday, the operating system on my laptop is no longer supported, so going online is quite dangerous, as the discontinuation also shut off my antivirus.

I really don't like posting from my iPod, but I am doing so now to come to you all with a question.

I'm looking at cheapish netbooks (ideally 11.6") and have come across an increasing number of these new-fangled chromebooks.

Does anyone on my flist have a chromebook or know someone with a chromebook? I'm hesitant to buy something without a good feel for it and this googleOS makes me feel like I'm flying blind.

Any thoughts?

I'm aliiiiiiiiiiiiiive!

I think I start most of my entries like that these days. OTL But seriously, I haven't been ignoring you guys. I just haven't had anything to say... mostly because I've been away/playing too many video games (most of which I would have never played save for the fact they contain my new favourite voice actor. FML)

Hmmm... Remember when I said I wanted to write 50000 words of Proscription by November? Yeah, totally dropped the ball on that. So far, I'm hovering around 17k - but at least everything is typed... it's something!

Still no good news on the job front... perhaps unsurprisingly, I'm not all that motivated because it's been such a pain in the ass. I've got a couple little things on the side, but nothing that constitutes a "grown-up job". I don't even care right now. Grown-up jobs can suck my non-existent cock.

In other news, Ace Attorney 5 release Oct 24~ \o/ Excitement!

In other other news, I've downloaded some old PSOne games (notably Tomba! and Medievil) to add to Mass Effect 1 and 2 in order to tide me over until Dragon Age 3 release... in August. FML.

Spring 2013 anime

so... what are people watching this season? I want to be better this season than in the last couple where I've only really been watching stuff from two (or so) years ago. ~~seriously, the last one was Ristorante Paradiso... which I finished in a day /fail.~~

Second season UtaPuri is a given... other than that, things seem a little slim this season. There's a new Higurashi no Naku Koro ni coming out, which I will watch religiously. Other than that, there are two that seem rather promising: Karneval and Date A Live, which I'll probably try out (the latter of which is supposed to start March 16).

Anybody else?

Mirai Nikki.

After the loveable crack that was Star Driver, I just finished marathoning something much darker. As I watched it, I was comparing Mirai Nikki to the child of Battle Royale and Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. I have never been so right.

Basic premise: Suvival Game in which all the participants have diaries which allow them to see some element of the future.

Thing that makes it O.o: Overly Attached Girlfriend. I won't go into details because I won't have to if you watch even the first two episodes.

so... I'm maybe in a slightly better headspace than I was last week or whenever I last posted. There are still silly things going on and bothering me IRL and online, but I'm trying not to let them bother me as much. Physically I feel terrible, but I think that's because I haven't been training at all for about a month... stupid holidays.

anime-wise, I've watched exactly one thing since september... and that was something that came out in 2010 called Star Driver (Kagayaki no Takuto). I hadn't done my usual seiyuu scouting for this one, so was delighted to find my #2, Akira Ishida among the cast along with my #4ish (maybe? my numbering system is not formal beyond #1 and #2), Miyano Mamoru. Anyway, for 26 episodes, I thought it was delightful (in spite of questionable use of French which, as you all know, can be a sticking point for me). Still, good times... and the term "Ginka Bishounen" - someday, before I die, I want to do two things related to this anime: 1. Refer to someone as a "Galactic Pretty Boy", 2. Greet someone in the street with "KIRABOSHI~* o7"

I've also been pointed to something else with potential. Anybody already seen Mirai Nikki?

Also, Sailor Moon 2013? will anybody be following it?

In other news, in order to get my mind off of things that suck that I can't control, I've been bouncing ideas around in my head and I think I'm finally ready to start writing again. I got down a few hundred words last night and it felt amazing to be writing again. My tentative goal is NaNoWriYear... because I know I don't have a hope of doing it all in one month - I might have to settle for typing it all up in November and hoping I have enough. But if I do that, how will I possibly be able to give you guys previews?. what am I talking about you guys don't want previews... right?

Had a minor heart attack yesterday. Mom called and told me Yuuta was missing! My little muffin!

We went to go search for him. Found out Animal Control was pretty sure they had picked him up, but I wouldn't be able to know for sure until the morning.

Spent all night scared that it wasn't him.
