Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. It is only because of the generosity of the U.S. Virgin Islands community that we can continue to grant wishes and change lives.

Do you know a child who may qualify to receive a wish?

At the time of referral, a child must:

• Be diagnosed with a critical illness, i.e., a progressive, degenerative or malignant condition that is placing the child's life in jeopardy
• Be older than 2½ years and younger than 18
• Have not received a wish from another wish-granting organization

Volunteers donate time and talents to bring strength and hope to wish kids when they need it the most. Volunteers are matched to opportunities based on their abilities, interests, and availability.  

Make-A-Wish volunteers consider their work impactful and meaningful. Their efforts are rewarded, not in dollars or cents, but in the incredible difference they make in the lives of our wish kids. 

To provide wish kids and their families with the best experience possible, we require all volunteers to submit an application, attend an orientation and undergo an online background check. Additional training is necessary for some volunteer opportunities.
