Wintertime is the coldest period of the year. It starts on the shortest day and continues until the day and night are equal. In the northern hemisphere, it is between December 22 and March 21. In the southern hemisphere, this is from June 22 to September 23.
Except in the tropics and polar regions, winter is quite different from the previous season, autumn, and the following season, from spring. Temperatures are low. There is snowfall, and the sunlight decreases as the cold wave comes. The growth of many plants slows down; most animals hibernate or migrate to warmer areas.
The winter season differs from other seasons due to its different characteristics. Winter is a season that is generally not liked by people. But winter, like other seasons, is very beneficial.
