DOG!

I have a dooooooooog!
Pretty, smart, excellent, excellent DOG!
She has kennel cough, tho, so I hope she starts eating right. Lowering the stress levels should also help. I need to disabuse my brother of the idea that it's as bad as whooping cough. I just talked to someone at Fair Isle and they said she should get over it by herself, but if it gets worse or hangs around too long I might want to do something about it. "It's one of the less dangerous ones, but it can develop complications..." I might have gotten Olivia (my bro's dachshund) infected. A 6 months and a really high energy level she should be sick too long if she gets sick at all.

She came with the name Astrid, but she's only had it for a couple weeks so I'm re-christening her Matcha. She's nothing like Washu, if that's what came to mind, I just really think that Matcha is a good name for a dog and this is the first dog I get to name.

She slept in my bedroom last night because when I closed her in the basement she started whining. I promised my mother that she would be a silent dog, so I took her up to my room to keep her quiet. I know I'm fostering an unhealthy dependency, but I gotta keep my mom in a good mood. Anyway, she tried to get on the bed but got the point when I gently pushed her off. I gave her a pillow to curl up on (tho it's too small for her) and she did, though I think she moved closer to my bed in the middle of the night. She also peed on my floor, but I forgave her because by 9:30, having not peed since some time before noon, she would've really needed to go. Stress kept her from being comfortable, but when she felt safely closed up with me... It was easy to clean up anyway.

Today I bought her food and got her to eat some of it. Don't tell my mother, but I stole a mixing bowl from the kitchen to use as a water bowl. I pulled out the first stuffed animal that I touched from the chest because I wasn't able to open the top all the way, so she now has a fuzzy blue lamb as a toy. This because she tried to steal JeriJo's beenie-baby cat that looks like leonard.

Matcha's fur is basically in disrepair. She has dandruff. I need to give her a bath, but don't currently have the energy. Hopefully Emily will pass her targets today. TD is a butt face of a teacher, an ass-hat of an educator. My head hurts. It's cold in the basement, but I pretty much get to live down here until I move out. At least I know it won't get hot, which is worse than cold (to me, yes I know, Reb). I'm going to teach my dog how to sit and lay down and go-to-bed (which she already has an understanding of) and stay. I'm going to get her to understand that when I say "I'll be back", I'm actually coming back and she doesn't need to follow me.

JJ is distressing me about the cabin. It's not that it won't happen, but that it needs to be done carefully because I'm her client. I figure as long as I think of it as renting from Jim (her husband), we'll be pretty good. Jim takes care of things, it seems, and takes pride in doing it.

I'm done.
