First Days All Over Again

first day of class today and I'm exhausted
I came home at around four and took a nap
I still haven't eaten anything that I could honestly refer to as dinner
and I am really far more drained than I expected.
I've obviously lost all of my stamina in the area of human interaction.

I am blessed in my class this quarter by the presence of Anna, with whom I took M2O. We are both the kind of science nerd that thinks and wishes to work in a way that requires petri dishes and pipettes; also, we are equally too far advanced to really find very much joy in the lectures we will be attending. [*yawn* Yes, thank you, I do know the difference between a eukaryote and a prokaryote. Can you tell me why adding this phage to a culture with that phage makes that phage grow twenty times as fast? No? I didn't think so -- stay out of my head and I will politely pretend to pay attention.]

I'm selling my soul to Betty this year, and she's delighted.
Here's hoping it works out.

Note to self: find/contact a professor to play advisor to my jewelry fantasies.
