Career v. Paycheck
I went to work today and filled out all the paperwork. yay
I spent oodles of time doing what will essentially be my job, but much slower than I need to learn how to do it. Well, need is questionable; the other girl who will be working with me is very slow but seems to get away with it because the guy I'm replacing (stephen) is surreally efficient. I wish he wasn't leaving, but it's really obvious that he's happy about it, so I shan't comment. He's leaving to go back to school for his masters. He has a BS and this lab pays him $11.20/hour. I've graduated from high school and this lab is paying me $11/hour. Anyone notice the utter stupidity of this?
They also didn't ask what I'm doing in life right now, like why I want a job here, what am I intending educationally, etc etc. They don't know that I'm leaving in the fall and I shan't tell them until, well, I guess a month before school starts I can go in an be really happy that I got into evergreen, and the class I wanted, too! yay! Or some bs like that. Hey, they believed me when I lied about my dog bleeding to cover the fact that I'm inept with setting alarms. Which reminds me...
