Listens: ticking clock

I just:
got up before 8am
ate breakfast
got dressed up fairly pretty
(well, appropriate for wanting admission to a community college, so I'm not wearing PJ's anymore)
did the dishes
broke a glass
(but it was stuck in the garbage disposal chute thing and I had to get it out with pliers)
cleaned up the broken glass
checked to see if Alex actually wanted to be awake because her alarm has been going off for at least 1 1/2 hours
found out she didn't, but got Olivia anyway
dried off my dog because she went outside and made herself utterly muddy in the paw area
tried to come up with an easy way to hide muddy paw prints and failed
realized it's too goddamn hot in here
also realized that it isn't anything of the sort and I'm just producing too much heat.

Neil and Alex don't know it yet, but I'm going to perform a sting operation on SPSCC today and they are going to budge up and let me into the nursing program. I think the only reason I haven't told them yet is that I'm still not comfortable in casual conversation with just them, and I was scared and distrusting of Alex, whom I expect to condescend to me and decimate what minor happy glow the future has developed. She's really quite good at that. She can, when feeling quick on her mental feet, do it with just one word, though it does usually take a whole sentence and is utterly contained in the tone of voice. There are "oh"s that contain the entire meaning of "I can't believe you want to do that, don't you know it's a worthless and wasteful activity?"

I just want a textbook that has a class to go along with it.
