SUCCESS STORIES

Industrial Commercial Properties (ICP) began their site selection in February 2023 and was able to close on the 66-acre property, formerly known as Rackspace, in March 2024. They have started their renovation and are working closely with the community and WEDC to bring new and diversified users to the more than 1.2 million-square-foot building. The company will invest between $40 and $50 million in refurbishing the property and will attract 9 to 15 different employers, projected to employ more than 1200 direct jobs.

HISTORICAL MARKER

"The marker indicates that the City of Windcrest was once part of several farms. In 1953, M.A. Winn, Jr. bought the first seventy-eight acres of land and constructed the first home in 1955. As he bought more land, the city expanded to its current size of approximately two square miles. The City has been planned and developed in accordance with a comprehensive development plan, resulting in a beautiful and charming community. Windcrest is well-known for its annual Christmas Light Up of homes, which started in 1960."
