I'm happy to help with plot and characterisation as well, though obviously this is much easier to do when you're familiar with the fandom. Hi everyone, I´m looking for a beta for one story only - around 30.000 words in total. Not that I would mind a permanent beta but those seem to be very rare these days...
My grammar tends to be a bit awkward at times and my wording isn´t always the best, so I do need a native speaker to rub my face in it to make me learn better;). I´m fine with any degree of harshness (I prefer brutal honesty, though) and I don´t mind you taking your time as long it doesn´t take forever.

Looking for permanent beta (and offering services in return!)

So I'm looking for a permanent beta reader to have on hand, partly for minor grammar errors I may make (I have tense issues), but mostly for insightful feedback as I have been told that I'm great with plot progression but kind of horrid with characterization (and that I overuse clichés a lot). I currently write only for EXO and Super Junior, but I may dabble into Beast sometime in the future. I need someone who will be comfortable reading any pairing (within each fandom, no crossovers as of yet) and any rating (my past fics were rated under PG-13, but I'm intending my future ones to include mature topics and/or smut possibly). I write once in a blue moon and am slow as a snail while doing so, so the position isn't really demanding since I'll most likely be throwing a fic at you only once every couple of months.

In return, I'm also offering up my services as a beta. I have an excellent grasp of the English language (minus my occasional mistakes, but I legit bought a grammar book and I'm hoping to rectify that weakness soon) and have experience workshopping other people's writing. I'm only willing to beta for EXO, Super Junior, and Beast (but I guess I may be convinced into editing for other fandoms as well). I'm comfortable with any pairing and any rating and will read practically anything (although I'm not a fan of OC stories or genderswitch). There are some subject matters that I may be uncomfortable with reading though, so you'll have to make sure to let me know if there's especially sensitive/graphic material in your fic.

Rating(s): Almost always it will be PG-13 or lower. I hardly ever write smut, and when I do, it is subtle.

Beta for a fantasy EXO fic?

Hey there.
I'm writing a MAMA based high fantasy fic, and I could really use a native speaker who could go over my grammar, spelling and punctuation. I don't really need any help with the plot or characterization, though-- got it all covered myself :)
The fic is OT12, and it will most likely stay that way (though there will be bromance). I have 4 chapters written already (15,000+ words) and there are many more to come, but I won't be posting the stuff for a while, as I want to write more before I post the first chapter.

I need a person who would be quick (1 week for a chapter or something), seeing as I just need the grammar and the likes fixed (and I don't make that many mistakes either). And I also need someone who will be able to stick witgh me for awhile (but I write pretty slow, mind you) :) You can find the prologue of the fic on my journal (which is a lot blander than the real fic).

So, help, anyone?

Just spelling mistakes and grammar a little cause I tend to overlook these things a little even after reading it again and again sometimes, like spelling errors and misplaced words here and there. It's not actually finished cause I intended it for NaNoWriMo but I didn't have enough time and I guess I still have a long way to go from the ending but suggestions and criticism are genuinely appreciated. Fic is college!au, cross dressing!Heechul and has other SM fandoms incorporated too.

Hello! I need a beta, whether it's one-time or permanent, it'd be nice to have some help ^^.

For the beta, a good grasp of the English language, able to fix grammar and spelling mistakes and alter words to make it sound/flow better.

I mostly write one-shots for the most part, but am slowly leaning towards chaptered series as of late and put myself in a ton of self-made challenges. I'm fine with how long it takes for it to be beta'd, I understand time constraints ^^.

Fandom: I write mostly from SMTOWN: Super Junior, DBSK, Exo and some het pairings (smtown/f(x). They tend to vary and I write plenty of rare pairs for the fun of it. Occasionally I write stories outside such as Ryotego, Baekren etc etc.

Pairings: Mostly yaoi, no ot3s and some hets. I write too many pairings but tend to prefer rare pairs over the OTPs in most cases. Can check out my list of pairing tags to get a good grasp of it. If you can't with some pairings or would like to only beta a few particular, that's fine with me too.

Genre: I mainly write romance, but varies from small fluff to drama/angst. Lately I'm more into the latter.

Ratings: PG to PG-13, I still haven't and don't plan on reaching NC-17/R anytime soon (don't think I'm cut out for it.)

Warning: I haven't done rape, excessive violence or incest, sometimes there is alluding to subjects for a few stories but that's about it. My stories are random, cliche. I doubt I'll ever write an epic blockbuster sort, I just write for the fun of it.

I'm the type of author who can't answer questions to my own errors, I draw a blank whenever I reread my own works and can't understand the errors though I know they're there. My previous beta who's currently buried in school work atm, knows this personally and has stopped asking me questions at one point. I know its impossible to read my mind in the beginning, and I'll try my best to answer them.

tl;dr: I have no real understanding of grammar, and it shows.

Hi, everyone! I'm actually I'm basically looking for a beta for an EXO fic that I'm translating from Chinese. It doesn't matter if you don't know Chinese, I just need someone to go through and makes sure everything is okay-- grammar, spelling, flow, ect. I don't actually know what's going to happen, what the pairing is, and what rating it is since I literally am translating and reading at the same time.
I'm also looking for a beta who can help with brainstorming, grammar, spelling, flow, ect for a new story that I'm planning. It's actually not ANY fandom right now, but will most likely only include select members of SMTOWN.
I know the two are sort of long-term, but if you can only do 1-2 chapters, that's okay too.
As you can tell, I write/translate mainly from the EXO fandom, but honestly, I'm pretty open to all fandoms. As for pairings, I don't have a set pairing, and sometimes, I write character-centered fics instead.
Ratings... I don't like going over PG-13 unless it feels like it's heading in that direction.
I hate writing smut, so don't expect any of that. As for dark themes... I don't like writing those either. I DO, however, like writing angst.

people call me kenni or ming, i'm currently 20 years old and majoring in korean studies. i've been writing fics for about 3-4 years but i had 2 years hiatus prior. in those 2 years english became my 3rd language instead of 2nd and therefore i need someone who can help me to double check my fics, help me with grammars, willing to brainstorm with me and also help me to improve my vocabularies.

fandom: EXO for now, I mostly write Krisyeol and in the future I'll be writing Xiuhan, Kaihun and maybe Sudo. I usually write romance, fluff and crack/comedy, and sometimes i do write angst. i want to expand my writings to something more serious somewhere in the future
