Sinking feelings
You ever had a moment, during an election year, when you could just feel it in your bones that one candidate we definitely going to lose?
I’ve had a few. In 2020, it was when Mark Cuban, then-owner of the Dallas Mavericks, was told the NBA season was going to be suspended because of the pandemic. There’s little logic to these realizations. My thought process was something like “if a super rich and well-connected guy is this surprised and saddened, things are probably gonna change.” And, well, I was right.
Last year, I knew Kamala was finished when video surfaced of a young white Democrat lady screaming “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT GAZA” into the face of a toddler.
I misremembered this clip. I would have sworn the lady was wearing a t-shirt that said “Joy” or “Be Kind,” or something along those lines. But, no. She was just a regular Democrat woman in a plain blue blouse. Yet she so encapsulated the genocidal hypocrisy of the Biden administration—the “microaggressions for me, white phosphorus for thee”-style of violent victimhood complex that defined liberalism in that era—that my failing brain must’ve superimposed an extra detail to underscore the profanity of the situation.
So vile. So very, very vile. You don’t need to be religious to realize that God would never let a movement like that succeed. Profane evil is infinitely preferable to self-righteous evil.
And the most profane was, of course, in 2016. Mother Hillary, in all of her wisdom as the most qualified candidate of all time, proudly, loudly, and very feminist-ly told a a crowd that universal health care was never going to happen, that poor people should just hurry up and fuckin’ die, and that actually it’s good that you will lose your house if you get cancer. The statement itself wasn’t out of the ordinary. That’s who Hillary is and what Hillary has always been. The sinking feeling, the understanding that holy shit Donald Trump is actually gonna be president, came from the fact that the crowd enthusiastically cheered when she said it. Those people were cooked. No decent person would ever openly associate with them. Bring on the Orange Rape Monster, please. At least he refuses to frame his cruelty as enlightenment.
When I sat down to write this, I originally planned on seguging from the election sinking feelings to the sinking feeling I got seeing an ADL guy blame Hasan Piker for those two pro-genocide lanyard people, but I don’t want my bank account to get frozen so I think I’ll just stop here.
