Version 3.0
With version 3.0 we are introducing a secure Shared Device mode for schools or businesses where iOS devices are shared between users and Single User mode where only one person has access to the device. In Shared Device mode account passwords are no longer stored on the device and cache information is cleared each time the app is launched. In this mode the app terminates Unified Workspace applications that are left running when a user closes the app.

Single device mode will run in the same manner as previous versions of the app. Account passwords can be securely stored in the Device Keychain, cached data carries over to future sessions, and Unified Workspace applications left running will continue to run and persist their data until the app is launched again or until they are terminated by the Unified Workspace server.

The operating mode of the device is selected by the user the first time the app runs after installation. The user is given the choice of modes and from that point on the device will operate in the selected mode. For reasons of security the only way to change the operating mode after it has been run for the first time is to delete the app from the device, which will also remove all stored account settings and login credentials.

When upgrading a device running Lenovo Unified version 2.2 or older the user will be given the chance to select the mode the next time the app is launched. If the user selects Shared Device mode and there is existing account information stored on the device the stored passwords will be removed and from that point on the device will operate as a Shared Device as described above.
