Meet Our Founder
Eugene Cordero is a scientist with a deep love for data and numbers, a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, and a background at NASA. After a decade of working in technical research, he transitioned to focus on optimistic solutions to environmental challenges. As a professor at San José State University, he led a research team funded by NASA and the NSF, aiming to reveal how education could motivate students to address local environmental issues.
After years of rigorous research, the data became unequivocal: providing students with real-world problems and the opportunity to make a difference yielded significant improvements in both student engagement and academic achievement. Realizing the transformative potential of these findings, Eugene took the next step to bring this research into classrooms. This was the beginning of Green Ninja—a curriculum aimed at enriching science education while nurturing future community leaders.
