Web Dumper overview

Web Dumper lets you download entire Web sites off of the Internet, and save them on your hard drive for later offline browsing.

Downloaded Web sites are saved on your hard drive with their directory structure intact. Web Dumper automatically downloads HTML documents along with their embedded pictures, sounds, movies and so on while it screens them to look for any enclosed links to other documents.

After a brief trial it failed miserably. I've been using Bulk Image Downloader (BulkImageDownloader.com) for years but in recent years it downloads fewer and fewer files, eg tens of thousands to a few hundred or thousand. Another drawback is its a Windows app but it works with PlayOnMac (free windows emulator and Firefox windows version is also needed). Anyone else have any other suggestions?

Absolute garbage. Either it downloads 10% of the website (web page setting) or it tries to download the entire world wide web (website setting). Tried a number of settings but still the same rubbish. I agree with the poster below. How it got such good ratings I don't know. Probably dummy Macupdate accounts.

I tried the WebDumper demo and it was not great but it seemed to do the job. When I decided to get the software, I cannot believe how many thing it missed including putting a lot of trash on the page. I contacted them immediately, right after I paid for it. I sent them a jpeg of all the problems and corrupted data, yet they won't contact me. I sent email to support but they will ignore me. I then sent email to sales, but I guess they no longer have that department since the email got returned. I don't understand why people here are saying it's so good. I don't have any friends at MaxPro or whatever the real name of that company is, and certainly am surprised by the good reviews. bellir
