My legs are extra super muscletastic. Love it. Bought two new pairs of running shoes yesterday, the ones above ans a super cute pair of Adidas. I'm fractions of a pound away from having lost 110 pounds since May 2010.

It took almost a full month from start to end for my poison ivy to go through its full cycle. It was annoying, itchy as fuck, and had me at my wits end a few times but its finally gone minus some scaring.

If being a vegetarian for the past twelve years doesn't get you to be a creative cook, having a constantly dwindling amount of points available for dinner will. I have learned (mild) salsa is my best friend. We've become so close that I even opt for salsa instead of tomato sauce for ravioli.

This was my dinner tonight. So filling and 7 points. Less point option could be done by using potato but I wanted perogies.

Whole wheat perogies, turnip greens, okra, fried mushrooms, tofurkey breakfast sausage and salsa. Noms.

Carbs get a bad rap. I've lost eighty pounds since mid May and had either pasta or potato almost every night. Its the portions my friends.

Summer In The City (for whom I pine)

I can't wait till Spring and its best friend, Summer. I want to be able to go for bike rides (as much as I do dig driving Willie to and from work - I do miss the bike rides too. Can't wait (but have to) for summer-night trips to get bridge fries (not often, just lets say, once a month :D) and iced coffees that get taken to the beach, my beautiful Lake Huron, or just to el parento's pool. Summer dresses and my giant sunglasses (bought two more on sale today, I wear big sunglasses, the tackier the better, I say). Long walks, and jog-walks (which hopefully this summer can become just jogs without the nagging need to walk), OH MID MAY, RETURN TO ME SOON (early May has become besties with April since May 7th).

Should I mention it again, I want me some summer? I DO.

Point form 'cus I'm a jerk like that....

- I've lost 15 lbs since May 19; a little thing called portion control (who knew a serving of pasta as just half a cup?) and not over-eating.

- I work today but once I'm done I'll get to start my 4 day weekend - including going to Toronto; PRIDE! Gonna get to hang out with my friends for a weekend of fun; get to see Ilona; get to see Bitch, The Cliks, Dragonette and Cindi Lauper ... woo!

- I've been able to bike almost every day of my new shift; 5 days a week.... it's gonna suck when it has to end when snow hits in the winter.

I'm trying to post more, can you tell?

I didn't put on my heating mattress pad onto my bed until last night out of laziness; my dad had put the boxes that had my bedding up really high and they're huge so they're super heavy: it was a whole lotta effort. I finally made the effort last night and omgz BEST, WARMEST SLEEP EVER.

From age 5 to 18, I had a waterbed, so I got used to having heated bed quite early. Seems people who love the mattress pads are people with waterbed history. I tell ya, I LOVE IT. So much, this is a post about my love of having a bed on "high", plus a fuzzy blanket, plus a comforter, plus a mexican blanket. I LIKE IT HOT.

NO MORE BEING COLD IN BED; I WILL BE HOT UNTIL MAY, HAVE A GOOD DAY.

UGH! SO PRETTY! (simple, but pretty) I *KNEW* I needed an necklace with an oak leaf on it, and then I found this on Etsy and now it's coming to me:

When I was a little girl, and we lived on Echo St (when I was 3-4) I would play behind the garage and I remember playing in a pile of oak leaves and they've always been beautiful to me ever since.

OMGZ.

Yey.

I try to control my etsy-purchasing but it had to be done and at $12 US it was totally reasonable.

Now if only I made the effort to set up my shop and see if anyone actually buys my photographs.

Mouse #2 found, and this time it was lucky and got the catch and release treatment instead of the Mardou and swat treatment. Still super proud of Marzy and her attempt to make smashy smashy of mouse # 2.

How come I didn't see any mice in my house for the first 2 summers of ownership and then this summer its just the Summer of My Mousecontent?

Hello World. I've had a epic cold [epic: I haven't had this bad of a cough since 2005 or 2006 (I know I lived on Brock but I haven't gone through the old journal to figure out which year)] for the past week and a half. I'm still coughing up lung butter but today is the closest I've felt to being alive since the 14th so its sort of exciting. Oh but its a turn for the worst because here comes my period. Really? Really. Heres some picture of my squash plants. I planted them by seed not thinking they'd amount to anything. Now they're the best growing of all my plants. Its in the crappy "triangle' garden next to my backdoor no less. Second degree burns suck. Did you know if you pour (ACCIDENTALLY, mind you) hot boiling water on your skin, your skin can just roll off... its totally true and totally disgusting.)

This was at like 2 am and thankfully Char was online to listen to my rants.
I'm a smart and skilled lady (though not skilled enough to not pour boiling water onto my skin) so I like to think I have it all under control. I had to tell my mother this morning though because I knew otherwise when we hang out in a bit she'd go to Shoppers prior to picking me up and I need more bandages.

"Well, I'll more than likely be taking you to the hospital" "uh no, its fine". I'm my fathers daughter: I firmly believe I had provide my own emergency medical care unless its above my skill-set (stitches - which my father WOULD do on his own) or drugs are required.)

Of course, I have to give injure myself before clothes shopping and just before my effin summer vacation.

Bought the Canon SD 780 IS... her name is Roxie (or Roxy? I haven't decided --- oh I should add that her body is metallic red.) I still have love for Скопско / Skopsko (that would be the name of my DSLR (Canon Rebel) she was named after a Macedonian beer --- oh dear ...) but I never randomly carry it around (heavy, bulky...) so something cute and compact was in order.

Neen is all "I wasn't smiling! boo!" but all I can see is how tired my eyes look behind the glasses. Soooo exhausted.

I love orange juice. I love it fresh, I love it pulpy. I love fresh, pulpy orange juice. It's true. Can you imagine my glee when a YEAR (sad, its been that long) ago, I found a orange juice maker? How exciting. Likely vintage at a thrift shop in my beloved West Philly? Well I was inspired to make an old fashioned photo post for y'all.

The result of two oranges: a mason jar full of NOM NOM NOM. Yes I have real glasses but I think things like homemade orange juice should be consumed in mason jars. I'm just country like that. This is also a shot of my new tea pot who is so cute and goes with my pottery mugs. It needs a name but I haven't decided on a good one, suggestions?

DO you compost? You really should. If you don't, you would be amazed by how much goes to your compost pile instead of the garbage can. I collect my compost donations in a container in my kitchen until it is a ugly heap and then take it to my backyard composter. Seen here is my nummy oranges, two eggs (I know, oh well), and some loose tea. NOM NOM NOM.

How much do I love orange juice? Enough to post about it. Terrible things happen if I say I need it and don't. Once upon a 2005, I spent the weekend in Toronto for Pride, so thats pretty damn busy, hot and sleepless, then I got home and Waneda was like "WANNA GO TO CANADA'S WONDERLAND?" (A destination not too far from where I just gotten back). in which of course, I was like "HELLZ YES" "OK, pick you up in 6 hours! (what? 5 hrs to sleep off my Pride Exhaustion. So, sunbaked, exhausted and on my period, I was dragged around a hot as fuck theme park and I NEEDED orange juice, and guess what kids, there was not a single place in that entire crazyplace without any orange juice (orange flavoured POP only)... I was ready to vom and I had no orange juice. SAD MELLY. True story.

Sunday and Monday contained 20 hours where I was worried as fuck that my dad's blood work results would come back up as him having leukemia or cancer. The results came back as him having type 2 diabetes. Shit, but not the death sentences I had in my head. The worst your 'number' should be is 7, my dad was at a 28 by Monday. He's now on medication and the numbers are going down.

For more stress, at the same time, his father is at the ICU unit at our hospital for at least 4 days after near heart failure. Someone is always with my grandma, typically my aunt, has been a bit out of whack her self since her aneurysm surgeries (and she still has one, inoperable) so its a bit like the weak leading the blind. My grandpa is 92 and takes care of his 88 year old wife, at this point they belong in a home but won't. I love my grandpa but I know the end is nearing, it's just so strange, it could happen next week or it could happen in 10 years.

Family heirloom. We think the headboard / foot board is at least 100 years old. We do know it was used with the bed my grandma Ina was born on.

Putting my front room (office? art and procrastination room?) back together have its complete motherfuckin' overhaul. Able to finally put art on the walls (and make my ticket art project together now that I was finally ableto squeeze into my front bedroom which has been full to the door of things during renos).

Everclear, R.E.M, Bob Dylan, Blink 182, Barenaked Ladies, Sleater Kinney, Sloan, Eric Clapton, Tegan and Sara (seen tiwce, first one was at the door, no tickets). Music postcard: Bitch, seen twice, no tickets as well.

Another nine tickets ... including the original, Red Hot Chili Peppers / Stone Temple Pilots / Fishbone, Matt Good (saw Matt Good also in 2003, I can't find the ticket), Alix Olson (also seen on postcard). Vagina Monologues (hey, vagina's are rock and roll too you know), Don McLean, Lesbians on Ecstasy, Rufus Wainwright, The Eels (water damaged thanks to Canada's Wonderland a few days later), and Barenaked Ladies.

But I don't know where to put my framed (and signed, of course) Honesty and Forgiveness print...

So 2005. I know why I related then, I don't now, long time ago and all. But there is no way I'd sell it. Colour scheme wise, it would go best in my living room but every place seems way too showcase-y for it. Arg. Poor little print hasn't been put up since I moved in 2006.
