Plain Talk, Long Overdue

I spoke with him in detail a few days back and submitted the results of our talk to Firearms News. My editor tells me it will be online either today or tomorrow and has gotten in under the wire to make the print version, going to press Monday and should in subscriber mailboxes/on news stands for several days before the primary.

I didn’t really know that much about him or what to expect in terms of how deeply and sincerely he would walk the talk, but I gotta say, my conclusion is we’re dealing with the real deal, we’re dealing with someone who doesn’t need to put himself out there for all the crap he’ll have to put up with, and we’re dealing with someone we’ll be damn fortunate to have in office, especially after enduring the wretched likes of Kass-Itch and the bipolar Mike DeWine.

Add in Vivek Ramaswamy declaring ““The idea of a heritage American is about as loony as anything the woke left has actually put up” while working to bring in a demographic that is 83% anti-gun, and readers here know how I feel about that.

If you’re an Ohio (or any other state) gun owner who agrees with me, you’ve gotta see what’s in it for you by spreading the word, getting out the vote, and supporting his campaign with much-needed donations. (I just made out a check he’ll get next week because of the Win-Red processing fee. And in the interest of disclaimers/disclosures, I hadn’t made up my mind to do this until after I’d submitted the mag article for publication.)

Tangentially-Related UPDATE

I couldn’t help juxtaposing watching him handling those guns with this bit of Republican phoniness designed to suck in the gunrubes:

Careful there, guys. Stephen’s gonna block you.

Shri’s also against guns, demands abolishing ICE, does the “No Kings” crap, and is an all around commie subversive. Who thinks his next generation’s gonna come around? Ranjit? Kostas…?

Some thoughts on “birthright citizenship” using the Bruen standard:

  • Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black described Rep. John Bingham as “The Fourteenth Amendment’s James Madison.”
  • During ratification debates on the Fourteenth Amendment “Bingham argued that birthright citizenship should only extend to children born within the U.S. whose parents did not owe “allegiance to any foreign sovereignty.”
  • You can’t be said to OWE allegiance to this country until you take the oath and are granted citizenship. And by default, newborns are incapable of forming allegiances or incurring debts.

Not my Hudson, but if Antifa blue hairs were involved I’d see where crazy begets crazy.

So now we have assault skateboards and skateboard violence? Hey, they’ve already got “commonsense skateboard safety laws.”

Gettin’ kinda crowded in here on what people can’t be trusted with.

When I had mine, they were still called “sidewalk surfboards.” It never did occur to me to kill anybody with it.

Point of Order

The “Operation Fast and Furious under Obama was another democratic blunder… ATF “purposely allowed licensed firearms dealers to sell weapons to illegal straw buyers, hoping to track the guns to Mexican drug cartel leaders and arrest them… [More]

Overall, this is an informed and thoughtful comment, but I am compelled to add some clarification to these impressions.

Botched gun sting” is a media narrative used to mask intent. You can’t let the guns go and expect to track them anywhere, and those behind the plot knew that. I’ve been cautioning against believing it for years, but my small voice can’t be heard through all the noise.

This was a deliberate and criminal plot to set up conditions where U.S. guns would be found at violent and bloody crime scenes with the intent of using that to justify imposing citizen disarmament edicts here, particularly over semiautos and their magazines. They knew people would be killed. They couldn’t NOT know.
