With the port problem, it might be that the programming cable is the problem. The earlier versions of the RT systems software/cable have changed from what is current. The current cable is a USB plug to a 4way 3.5mm plug. My earlier version has a USB-serial port plug, then a serial socket to 3.5mm three way plug, then three-way socket to 3.5mm 4way plug. Sound confusing and ugly as hell. Well it is not uncommon for the USB to serial converter port to have connection issues and the real problem is to get a driver to get that serial port going. I can not advise further other than to suggest finding the driver that works with your converter.
I have a problem with the software, hope, you can help, please. I can read from VX5, but it will not let me write to it. All I get is Windows 7 TX error.
I am trying the software for the Yaesu VX-5 radio. It will not find the USB port, manually or in auto find mode. The cable and software work fine on Vista. Any updates on software? Any suggestions?
