I slept briefly this afternoon after work, but... I dreamt of when Zant stormed the castle. The flames, and the monsters, and the usurper standing at my throne, watching, enjoying it all...

Everybody, slaughtered. We surrendered, and they moved through the castle, killing at will, and I...

I could do nothing.

And my castellan dying before me. That was when I awoke.

...But I awoke kneeling on the floor as I had been then, and I thought... I thought my hands were stained with his blood, stained with Eddard's blood...

I must regain control of myself. It will not do to let such a thing happen.

Is it common here, do you think, to experience a severe amount of nightmares? True nightmares, the ones that render you sleepless and almost glad of it. I have not had them in such a magnitude before, even before the Dark One came... And even then they were prophetic, these are simply... These simply are...

He cannot come back. Not yet. It is impossible - I witnessed him die, and more importantly, I felt him leave. I felt him be sealed away once more... It will be centuries before he builds enough power to break free again, if the legends are to be believed.

Why then must I worry about it so? It is irrational. Logically, I know that it is impossible... Perhaps it is without Nayru's guidance that I am weakened further...

Every time I close my eyes, it is the usurper staring down at me, and I cannot evade the feeling that rises within me; that same fear, that same anger, that same... helplessness. I tell myself I made the right choice in surrendering in the knowledge that Link would come, but... Was it the right choice? Could I have acted then, and prevented it?

That is a foolish worry also. It is done. It cannot be changed. We prevailed over both the usurper and that timeless evil.

But perhaps I would not have these dreams if I had.

When he possessed me... I cannot cease thinking of it. The power he so easily wielded, how easily I was twisted to his will. Power is his domain, I know, but how strong of mien can I be to have been so easily controlled?

1. What is Hyrule like?

Beautiful. Castle Town sits in the centre of it, surrounded by sprawling green fields. To the south, there is thick, ancient woodland and patches of lush farmland. To the east, mountains begin to rise, full of hidden hot springs and cave networks. In the west lies the great Gerudo desert, and before that the huge Lake Hylia. Following the river which runs to the lake north, there is a sacred spring held by a race known as the Zora, and beyond that, high jagged mountains covered in snow.

2. Do you miss anyone from your world?

My people. When I was brought here the country was in a state of turmoil, and I am worried about them.

3. How do you spend your free time?

I have little, but I try to fit in some reading, horse riding, swordplay, archery, music, or embroidery into my schedule.

4. You have an interesting name. Is there a meaning for it?

My first name, Zelda, is a name which has been shared by many of my ancestors. In ancient tongues, it was said to mean either ‘endless patience’ or ‘grey haired warrior maiden’. An old legend says that the first names used by the original generation of the royal family were chosen by the Triad. My second name, Nohansen, has no real meaning other than a simple surname, and the addition of Hyrule is simply a possessive.

5. What are your thoughts on fate?

I believe in a destiny, but not a fate. Fate dictates things are set and there is no way to move from them. Destiny is a path put in place, but I believe it can be altered by choice. In Hyrule, certain people are often pushed along it.

1: Why are you here in Purgatorium?

Apparently, I am here not only for my own sins but the sins of my ancestors who live on within me. I’m not sure what they were, exactly, but it seems I’m here for a mix of everything.

2: Do you prefer chocolate or vanilla?

Not knowing what chocolate is, I would have to say vanilla.

3: Does everyone from your world have those ears? They look like they're useful for hearing distant things...

Everyone of my race, the Hylians, has ears like this. Humans and everyone else have rounded ears or something other. From what we know the hearing of a Hylian is better than that of a Human, but we were originally given them so that we could hear our Goddesses speaking to us.

4: How is it being a hostess?

I haven’t truly started yet, but from what Nami has told me it will be interesting at least.

5: Do you have someone you left behind in your world?

My answer is the same as who I miss. My people – every one of them.

I am looking to find employment of some kind.

My experience is very limited due to the position which I was in since youth, but I am an extremely hard worker and I learn very quickly once I know how to do something. I'm willing to work as often as I'm needed, and I will do my best to do whatever's necessary to the highest quality that I can.

(Forgive me if this manner of finding something seems unorthodox, but I was not sure what was available and felt this would be the most efficient way to learn.)

I hope that I am using this correctly. It is not something I have ever used before, nor anything like it.

My name is Princess Zelda, of the land of Hyrule.

Of the basic information I have been given, I still do not know where exactly I am, except that I appear to be between a river and a clock tower of some kind. If it is not too much to ask of this place’s other inhabitants, could some form of bearings be provided?
