Feedsweep

I have just discovered and am loving a site called Feedsweep.

I wanted to put a visual link to my blog LifeCapturedFramedCollages on my LCFC site. I discovered that WordPress does not have a widget for this and that to do it most places I’d have to know how to deal with code and I just wanted somthing quick and easy. Well Feedsweep is quick and easy. Just answer some questions and you end up with a blog feed that looks like the one I created on this page:

They give you a choice of background colors so that you can find one that goes with the blog you are referencing. Try it out for yourself at http://www.feedsweep.com

Benefits of Hiring a Virtual Assistant

Have you ever cringed at the thought of hiring an assistant or someone to come into your home or office to coordinate your email, do research for you, or write articles for your blog? Do you hesitate to hire someone who may end up cruising Facebook? Does the thought of paying someone the current wages for such a position to come in and work a typical workday make you nervous? Make Your Business Your Job Until It’s Your Only Job

Someone once told me, “Make your business your job until it’s your only job.” What she meant was, until you are able to make enough money to live working at your chosen business, make sure to spend time every day, every week, sharpening your skills, making contacts and learning.

Sharpen Your Skills – Do you find that in order to succeed as you would like you need to learn more about Excel, read more about e-commerce, or jump in and start using the program you bought but have been reticent to start using? Well then go for it. Make time each day or at least each week to practice and learn.

Make Contacts – You may also spend time at the end of each week making contacts with those you’ve dealt with that week but don’t forget to reconnect with those who you’ve not spoken to for a while. It’s never too late to re-establish some sort of connection and customers may appreciate your letting them breath before contacting them. And don’t forget to jot down some new contacts you’d like to make. And then make them.

Learning: Sharpening your skills is more directed towards skills you already possess. Learning is more directed towards learning something brand new. Learn about a new customer segment you wouldn’t have thought of serving or a new product or skill that you thought was not something your existing customers would want.

However you choose to do it, carve out time to sharpen your skills and aptitudes until you are able to make your business your only job.

Get Creative Now!

Whether you’re the owner of a small business or in big business, don’t forget the link between creativity and success. Researchers have found that not only do business people feel better when the do something creative on a regular basis, but sales go up, meetings are more productive, and they are just generally happier.

Creativity creates chemical reactions in your body, mainly the release of serotonin, which can produce a calm, content feeling. So whatever you’re into, make more time for it … and blogging does count but try to find something that gets you away from your computer as it is easy after you’re done being creative to think, “Well as long as I’m here I’ll just check up on that new account.”

So get away from the computer and get creative; write, paint, bake, whatever appeals to you will ultimately help your business.
