Was ist neu in Version 8.1
Version 8.1:
Hinweis: Erfordert jetzt OS X 10.11 oder später, das auf einem 64-Bit-Intel-Prozessor läuft
- Eine Einstellung hinzugefügt, um den H.264-Codec für die Erstellung eines Bildschirmfilms zu verwenden, auch wenn der HEVC-Codec verfügbar ist

- Doppelklicken auf eine Disk im Finder funktionierte nur einmal pro Ausführung; dies wurde behoben.
- Beim Speichern einer Konfiguration gab der Speicherdialog fälschlicherweise die Option an, einen Dateityp auszuwählen (z. B. Disk-Image). Dies wurde behoben.
- Die Schaltfläche "Aktueller PC" im Inspektor könnte zu leeren Zeilen in der Disassemblierung führen. Dies wurde behoben.
- Beim Neustarten einer virtuellen Maschine bleibt das Hauptfenster jetzt das aktive Fenster, wenn der Inspektor geöffnet ist.
- Wenn eine konfigurierte ROM-Image-Datei nicht gelesen werden kann, zeigt die Anwendung jetzt eine Fehlermeldung an, die den Pfad zur fehlenden Datei identifiziert. In der vorherigen Version stürzte die Anwendung ab.
- Zahlreiche (wenn auch geringfügige) Speicherlecks behoben
- Die Dokumentation des A2V2-Disktransferdienstprogramms aktualisiert

hey all, I was wondering if this program was still maintained and developed? I see it's a shareware program, but all the old apple emulators seem to be several years old without any recent updates. I didn't want to pay for it if it was no longer supported, so I thought I would ask first.

The Apple II was the first computer I used. I still know the 6502 instruction set by heart, and having an almost perfect recreation of that great machine simply brings me joy. There is nothing I can do on the Apple II that I couldn't do faster on any other computer. But booting up the Apple II (hearing the faithful recreation of the whirr-whirr-clack-clack-clack of the booting disk), and typing 'call -151' to get into the Monitor is something that only few people will ever get. I do. And I love it. Why? Because I can.
The price is great considering the amount of work that has gone into creating a near-perfect simulation (just imagine the amount of work required to get the one-bit speaker of the Apple II emulator to produce correct sound on a Mac with a polyphonic synthesizer).

Awesome emulator! Faithful emulation but the cost is a bit high. If you look out for a 2dehand Apple II it could well be cheaper.

It's been quite a long time since a review was posted, but Virtual ][ is an excellent, excellent emulator. There are a few different Apple II emulators around, but Virtual ][ provides the best experience by far. Supports a lot of models and different internal options and cards, and a great attention to detail (perhaps my favorite example of this is the fact that the disk seek noises are actually faithfully reproduced in real time). Supports a lot of image formats and interacts well with ADTpro, good host integration including the ability to mount a folder as a ProDOS volume. And it is actively maintained. Much cheaper, better connected, faster (if you want it to be), and more space efficient than the physical machine, and you'll never any need to reseat or replace the RAM chips.
