The Virginia APEX Accelerator, formerly known as the Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Center, is a sponsored program of George Mason University. Headquartered in Fairfax, with counselors throughout Virginia, we serve businesses in 108 jurisdictions ranging from Loudoun to Roanoke and Richmond to Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore. All counselors provide one-on-one advice to help businesses with government contracting at the Federal, State, and Local levels.

The Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) is now under the management of the Department of War (DOW) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) and has changed its name to APEX Accelerators.

In May 2023, the Virginia PTAC, now known as Virginia APEX Accelerator, held a Conference and Matchmaker at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia (Van Metre Hall). These Government Contracting conferences invite government officials, large business, and small business to come together for valuable networking as well as one-on-one meetings. It is an opportunity to learn more about the process of marketing to the government, what the customers at both agencies and prime contractors are seeking, and for small businesses to pitch their capabilities to other attendees including small business officers as well as potential teaming partners.
