Blood Blood Everywhere!!!
For anyone who has ever played Vandal Hearts for the Playstation, this is probably the first thing you noticed and the major thing you remember about this game.
It's got a very kewl dark story, great characters and dialogue, decent music (though the ending vocals are fantastic). It ranks as one of my favorite PS games still. I personally love the tale of political and military intrigue - not to mention that the main character Ash doesn't start off as a first level wimp.
But of course, even with a great story it distinguishes itself with a disturbingly funny way of defeat for enemies. Every time you vanquish a foe, a geyser of blood shoots into the heavens. Aaah, it satisfies a bloodlust most satisfactorily ^.^
I think more strategy games should do that, it kinda reminds me of Battle Chess. Hmm, now that you mention it...why isn't there more blood splatter in games nowadays?
