Nintendopoly
Soon to be released, a version of Monopoly based on the beloved characters from Nintendo:
Press The Buttons article, it's set to be released in July but pre-orders are being taken right now.
It's an interesting and fun idea (certainly there are plenty of other versions of Monopoly out there, such as: Star Wars, Star Trek, Family Guy, Pirates of the Carribbean...) and I'll probably pick up a copy at some point - though it is a tad steep in the price department.
I kinda wish they took a different route. Have the board pieces consist of the major characters that Nintendo has brought us (Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Samus, Fox, Mega Man). Have the properties actually be properties - such as Bowser's Castle, the Island of Koholint, Planet Zebes, Dr. Wiley's Laboratory, Charlock Castle. Instead of Railroads - how about the Great Fox, Rush, or items such as the Master Sword, a Mega-Mushroom, etc...
Perhaps also, separate board pieces can be sold on different specifics: Villains (Bowser, Wario, Metroid, Gannon, Dedede...), Pokemon (Pikachu, Mewtwo, Bulbasaur, Psyduck...), Iconic Hardware (NES Controller, Gameboy, N64, Rob the Robot...), etc.
Any thoughts, other ideas/suggestions?
