Description

VELscope Mantis: Spectral Vision. Informed Decisions.

The VELscope Mantis represents the next evolution in oral mucosal examination technology. This innovative multi-mode system integrates three distinct visualization methods into one state-of-the-art device, empowering dental professionals to perform comprehensive oral screenings with unprecedented clarity and confidence.

Three Visualization Modes. One Powerful Device.

Non-Polarized White Light The traditional method for examining tissue, providing surface reflections that highlight texture and topography along with color variations that indicate the state of underlying tissue.

Polarized White Light Excels at revealing subtle color tissue changes by improving color response and eliminating distracting surface reflections that can obscure underlying tissue abnormalities.

Blue-Light Fluorescence Building upon its predecessors, the Mantis delivers an increased field of view with enhanced filtering for a brighter, improved image featuring increased yellow/orange spectral content and greater visibility of bacterial fluorescence.

Designed for the Modern Practice

The VELscope Mantis was engineered with your workflow in mind. Its lightweight, portable, and ergonomic design allows for comfortable extended use. The thermally efficient construction eliminates the need for a cooling fan, ensuring whisper-quiet operation that keeps patients at ease.

Seamless Photo Documentation

Capture and share findings effortlessly with the integrated iPhone Photo Documentation System. Simply place any iPhone (XR or later) or iPod (7th generation) into the device cradle, slide it into position, and use your preferred app to document examinations.

For hands-free capture, the Grip&Shoot App connects to the Mantis handpiece via Bluetooth. Use the handpiece trigger button to zoom and capture photographs, then display images on an external monitor for real-time patient communication and education.

Clinical Decision Support

VELscope Mantis integrates with OralMedicine.com, enabling direct case uploads to expert oral pathologists. This streamlined process supports early detection of oral cancer and other abnormalities, ensuring more informed clinical decisions when you need guidance.

Why VELscope Mantis?

Oral cancer has become a top 10 cancer, with HPV now a leading cause of oropharyngeal cancer in both men and women. With no routine screening protocol and subtle early symptoms, regular oral cancer screenings are more critical than ever. The VELscope system has performed over 10 million examinations worldwide and is recognized by the World Health Organization.

Finding oral cancer in its early stages is key to survival. Give your patients the advanced standard of care they deserve.

“Adding the VELscope to our diagnostic protocol has been extremely useful and resulted in detection of dangerous lesions that would have otherwise been undetected.” — Edmond L. Truelove DMD, MSD, Former Chair & Professor Oral Medicine, School of Dentistry, University of Washington
