Welcome to Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), the nation’s premier institution for agricultural
education, research, and innovation. Since our establishment in 1961, we have remained committed to our
mission of advancing agricultural sciences and producing leaders in agriculture, fisheries, livestock, and food
production, which are essential to the sustainable development of Bangladesh and beyond. BAU is uniquely
positioned at the heart of Bangladesh’s agricultural development. Our 1200-acre campus, nestled along the
scenic old Brahmaputra river, houses not only 6 dynamic faculties and 44 departments but also 2 national
research institutes—Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) and Bangladesh Fisheries Research
Institute (BFRI).
Our vision at BAU is to be a global leader in agricultural education, embracing excellence in teaching, research,
and extension services. We strive to address the evolving challenges of the 21 st century, particularly in the
context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and the rapid technological advancements that are reshaping
agriculture. Through the integration of smart agriculture, automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven
solutions, we aim to lead Bangladesh into a new era of precision farming and sustainable food production,
ensuring that our agricultural sector remains resilient, productive, and environment friendly.
