I have to admit that this season of Bones was a little disappointing. I had such high hopes for its return and it just seemed to spiral out of control into nothing concrete or satisfying. I wasn't even thinking about a Season Finale fanmix until I saw the last two episodes. Then every song I heard seemed to apply to B/B. It's a mix of 20 songs, 9 for The Hole in the Heart, 9 for The Change in the Game and 2 for the fans who aren't sure what to make of it. Enjoy!

Bones Season 6 Premiere Music Mix

My friend Alli bailapersephone and I decided several months ago, around the season five finale, I think, that we wanted to collaborate on a mix because we'd both been making mixes to commemorate the season ends and openers. We have very similar tastes in music, so it was very easy to come up with songs we both loved for this mix. In fact, we had a more difficult time narrowing down to 15 from 35 (or at least I did) than we had coming up with songs at all. So without futher ado, I present the Bones Season 6 Premiere Music Mix. Prompt:

There's a blue sweater hanging in her closet. It got left at her apartment one night and she forgot to give it back. So it stayed in the closet, smelling of him, passing it's smell on to the clothes nearby. She enjoyed wearing those clothes the most because every once in a while during her day, she'd catch a whiff and smile to herself. But one day he asks about it.

"Hey, Bones? Have you seen my blue sweater?"

She pretends to think about it before nodding. "Yeah, I think you left it at my place a few months ago."

"Oh, good. I thought I lost it. Think I could come by and get it later?"

"Of course."

When he comes by that night, she has the sweater laying on the back of the couch for him. He takes off his jacket and pulls the sweater over his head.

"Ah, thanks Bones. I've been wanting to wear it to mass."

"I'm glad I could help."

He stays for a little while and they talk about their case and other things that don't really matter. And when he leaves, he's forgotten his jacket. She smiles and puts it on a hanger, sticking it in the closet where it's scent will pass to the other clothes nearby.

Prompt:

Booth was giggling when they stumbled through the front door of her apartment. They were drunk. Very drunk. The taxi driver had been annoyed with them, but less annoyed when he'd been given a hundred dollar bill instead of the twenty he was meant to have. Brennan was a little more quiet about her intoxication, but no less drunk. Some stupid drinking game of Booth's she'd participated in against her better judgement. He leaned against her as she fumbled with the keys in the lock. She wasn't sure what was funny, but she couldn't help smiling a little. She liked to hear him laugh.

He almost went down once the door was open and she turned to catch him, but they both ended up on the ground. "Booth!" She grunted and pushed him off her, but he was giggling even harder now and was not helpful in her attempts. It was easier just to kick the door shut, which she did. She lay back, with Booth half on top of her and knocked her head against the flooring. She winced, and Booth raised his head slightly to peer at her through bleary eyes. "Y'ok, Bones?" She nodded, catching a whiff of his whiskey laced breath. Their faces were uncomfortably close and she wondered if they would sleep this way. She imagined being very sore in the morning. Unwilling to let that happen, she struggled against him again. "C'mon, Booth, let's get you to the couch."

She finally managed to wriggle her way out from beneath him and then tug on his arm enough to get him to his feet. He trudged toward her couch, still leaning heavily on her, and when she pivoted to help him lie down, he kept his grip and she went down on top of him. The air whooshed out of her lungs and she whined, "Booth!" He grinned and somehow his fingers were suddenly beneath her shirt, skidding across the skin just beneath the waistband of her jeans. She gasped and tried to pull away but still he held on. "Booth, we can't do this." His eyes were glassy in the moonlight filtering through her windows. "Do what, Bones?" And it struck her suddenly that she didn't know what 'this' was. They weren't doing anything yet. Yet. His fingers explored some more and she gasped when he touched the sensitive place above her hip. He leaned up and silenced that gasp with a kiss while his hands pressed down on her lower back.

She warred with her feelings, knowing that this was going to change everything about their relationship, and yet not caring because it was what she wanted. They were both drunk, and even if her rational mind continued to peck at her, it wasn't going to change the fact that she was going to have drunk sex with Booth. She kissed him back, her hands going to prop herself up on either side of his head. She bent her neck, pressing her lips against his with a fiery desire she had been holding back for years. Their tongues met and slid against each other. His hands were busy with her top, unbuttoning buttons that were far too small for a drunk man to be able to manage. In the end, she lost a few, but she had plenty of other shirts just like it. It was no great loss.

His fingers grazed her sides as her blouse fell open, and she felt the gooseflesh rise. A deep stirring of desire started in her groin and worked its way outward. She sat back, knees hugging his hips and he followed her up. She tugged on his t-shirt, pulling it up and over his head. He pushed her blouse off her shoulders and she dropped it on the floor. He wrapped strong arms around her and pressed feverish kisses over her collarbone and up her neck along her jaw. There was no more giggling, only panting and soft moans. Her slender arms went around his neck, pressing her bra-clad breasts into his neck. It was a short detour from her jaw to her breasts. Fingers that couldn't manage buttons could manage a bra clasp with no trouble. He took her nipple between his lips, tongue flickering over the contracted bud while her head tipped backward, hair ghosting over her back and his fingers.

Her fingers gripped his shoulders and he switched his attention to the other, her breath coming in halting gasps. His lips were again on her neck, seeking out her lips as he tipped her up and pushed her backward. He pulled her boots off her feet and flung them to the floor, and now she was giggling. He grinned at her and leaned forward to kiss her again. He gathered her into his arms and walked less drunkenly toward her bedroom than he had up to the apartment earlier. He dumped her on the bed and crawled over her while her hands explored the breadth of his chest. His fingers moved to the button on her jeans and unzipped them before he hooked his fingers in and pulled both pants and panties down over her hips and thighs. She kicked them off from there and then turned him on his back to do the same to him.

Her hands were everywhere and he groaned when she touched his shaft. He couldn't contain the groan of pleasure at her touch and held his breath while she slipped her palm up and down the turgid flesh. He looked up at her, catching the flushed mask of desire she wore, a side of her he'd never seen before. She bent her head as she climbed up his body, her hair trailing over his naked skin before she threw one leg over his to straddle him. Without a word or a look, she lowered herself onto him, drawing another moan from him and a sigh from herself.

His hands settled on her hips and he marveled at how wet she was, how easily he slipped within her, but how snug the fit was anyway. She set up a rhythm, moving over him, her breasts swaying, tempting him to touch them. He did. Her hands gripped his sides, his hands grazed over her nipples and cupped the heavy flesh. She bent lower and there was more passionate kisses during which he turned her over onto her back and pistoned himself in and out of her damp core. She bit down on her lip and lifted her hands into her hair, tipping her head back and closing her eyes.

He licked his lips and bent down to press kisses up between her breasts to her neck. Panting turned to a fevered pitch as the rhythm increased and then slowed, increased and then slowed. Her back arched up off the bed as she crested the wave of her climax. He felt the trembling beneath him and as inner muscles quaked and vibrated against his shaft. It was this that sent him over the edge. He emptied himself within her depths and groaned as he came. She was silent except for the escape of a quiet sigh. He wrapped his arms around her and rolled so that they lay on their sides facing each other. They were both breathing hard and coated in a sheen of sweat. But they were both smiling. She was going to be sore in the morning, but for an entirely different reason than sleeping on a hardwood floor.

She set the skull down on the table and turned the magnifying glass that she'd been using off. "I believe Hodgins is going to want to do an experiment to find out if the weapon was indeed a nail gun or if someone merely hammered the nail into the skull."

Booth wrinkled his nose in distaste, not unable to imagine someone doing such a thing. It was the curse of being an FBI Agent and a sniper.

"I believe I'd like to try it."

"The experiment?"

"No. Curling."

"Really. Curling? You sure?"

"Quite certain."

"Oookay. I could see about getting the rink reserved. You need four players, though. Who else is going to play with you?"

"Well, you will. Won't you?"

"I could give it a shot. You still need two more people."

"Hodgins may be persuaded. Probably not Angela. Oh, what about Mr. Bray? He plays hockey and seems comfortable on the ice."

"Okay, you ask them and I'll reserve the rink."

She smiled. "Thank you."

Shaking his head, he couldn't help but return her smile. "Sure, Bones."

Booth was 99.9% sure this curling adventure would end in disaster. It was no secret that Bones was not the most graceful creature when it came to ice. But when she wanted to try a sport, who was he to deny her? At the very least, it would be entertaining. And there was the .1% chance she'd actually be good at it. He couldn't wait.

In the years since her mother was properly laid to rest, she had started a tradition of visiting her grave. Usually it was after some prodding from Booth that she went, but today it was her own idea. She took flowers and, although she didn't see the merit in it, she had to admit that they did brighten up the headstone. There were already flowers there when she got close enough to see the engraved marker. They looked a little wilted and she estimated that they had been there for two or three days at least. Her father. She couldn't think of who else might bring flowers for Ruth Keenan, or Christine Brennan for that matter.

She bent her knees and placed the flowers near the others. Tucking her hair back behind her ears as she stood, she took a deep breath. She knew that her mother wouldn't be able to hear her or, even more impossibly, respond. But she had something weighing on her mind that she had to tell someone. There was an up side to telling her mother; not only would she say it aloud and perhaps alleviate some of the stress of keeping such a thing to herself, but her mother wouldn't be able to tell anyone else what she was about to say.

She blew out a breath that ruffled her hair slightly. She felt incredibly ridiculous but she couldn't think of any other way to get it off her chest. "Hello, Mother." She shook her head and smirked at how silly she felt to be speaking to no one but the trees around her. "I have something to say that I can't say to anyone else." She took another deep breath and her next words came out with few pauses and little candor.

"In the last few years I have come to discover that I have feelings for Booth that are not altogether appropriate for our working relationship. I have tried to keep them to myself and I have tried to keep him at a distance, to remain friends. Partners. I am certain no one else knows how I feel, but I don't know how much longer that will last. My colleagues are annoyingly astute.

There are so many reasons to explain the way I feel, things I wish he could know. I feel happier when he is around. Safer. Whole. He has made me believe in things I never imagined I would. Like the essential goodness of people. And love. He teaches me about life and family. He is honest and loyal and he is quite appealing physically. He makes me smile, and laugh. He is the reason Dad and I even talk and he is the most amazing man I have ever known.

There are times when I feel as if he is about to tell me that he feels the same way I do, but it passes and we go back to normal. It's irrational, I know, but I am afraid of what he might say or what he might not say if he were to know of my true feelings. I need him, and I can't say something that might ruin what we have. I would be lost without him in my life and if something I said made him leave, made them assign me a new partner, I would cease to be. I can't tell him these things; but I can tell you. I love Booth."

Her lips formed a tight line as she bowed her head, giving herself a moment, waiting for the sting of tears to abate. A few deep, cleansing breaths later she was walking across the grass to her car. She felt just a little bit lighter, a little less emotional. A little more human. But no less in love.
