Doctor Who/ Birthday Party Bash!!

Last night's Doctor Who/Birthday Party Bash!! thing was a lot of fun! I put up a bunch of photos on my Facebook here, but some highlights are behind the lj-cut. XD

The table with all the goodies, before the cake arrived. Orange cups, because I love orange. I wrote everyone's name on them and drew art on each cup. The giant red thing is a stack of fezzes that I bought to give out to everyone as party favors, because I am a hobbit who gives presents at his own birthday. The yellow thing is a card from intrepidy, who threw the party. We have bendy straws, a plate of dalek sugar cookies, another plate of cookies, various snacks, and the Who-themed wrapped M&Ms boxes that Katie designed. :D Also, check out the groovy spaceship themed table cloth. XD

Me in my fez.

Hand-cut orange dalek cookies!

Personalized candy wrappers that intrepidy designed.

The ones on the left looked like jammie dodgers on the box (a bit less so when opened). Then triple ginger cookies I got in Vegas (because I love ginger and so does the Doctor), followed by more sugar cookies! Stars and moons were appropriate, and two tiny weeping angels!

Ehehehe, my friends are awesome. <3

THEN THE CAKE ARRIVED

SO. EPIC.

It was made by kingzgurl, who also showed up dressed as Rose from "The Idiot's Lantern." A++

urchinmoppet, me and Chris in our fezzes.

So many happy fezzes!

intrepidy in a fez!

The TARDIS cake with a dalek cookie and a plush orange-rainbow unicorn that Julian handmade for me! I was stoked.
BEST TARDIS COMPANIONS EVER Y/N?

Cutting of the cake!!

There she goes!! You can see she was made up of six individual cakes stacked one on top the other, with delicious buttercream raspberry filling in between each later, and then covered in fondant.

I cut that one slice into six pieces and that was pretty much all the cake we had at the party. We divided the rest between us at the end of the night. The front was basically another cake in of itself! (Surprisingly, they trusted me with a knife!)

The night ended with several rounds of this paper-telephone inspired game. You start off with as many little pieces of paper as there are players (in our case, five). You start by writing a sentence on your first piece of paper. Here is an example of just one of my sentences from one of our rounds.

I wrote, "Eleven, Vincent and Amy go to a 50s malt shop and share a malt."
And so begins the tragic romance saga of the Doctor, Amy and Vincent Van Gogh . . .

And then everyone passes their paper to the left (or right), and the person who gets your paper has to draw a picture of your sentence. This was Julian's interpretation of my sentence. It looks cute, at first, but beware that innocent heart and where it has been placed, for the next thing you do is pass your stack to the left (or right) again . . .

So that the next person writes a sentence of what s/he thought the drawing showed. Katie's interpretation of Julian's drawing was, "The Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Van Gogh in a milkshake shop while Amy and Van Gogh fall in love even more."

Well, that's not bad, is it? But Amy and Vincent falling in love more? It's the fault of that heart!

So then, you guessed it, you pass the paper to the left (or right!) again!

And the next person has to draw it! Here is Crystal's interpretation of Katie's sentence.

Gosh, not only are Amy and Van Gogh really falling in love, but they are totally ignoring/rejecting the Doctor now, too! And look! The darn heart has returned!! Well, at least they're sharing a milkshake.

So you pass the paper again . . .

And Shaina wrote what she thought Crystal had drawn, "Amy leaves the doctor to persue a relationship with Freddy Kruger." AHAHAHA. ALL BECAUSE OF THAT LITTLE HEART. (And some interesting art.) Poor Doctor!!

We only had five players, so the round stopped here and we revealed the progression of the sentence/art and laughed a bunch, but with more players it gets even more convoluted. :D It was so much fun. I think we managed five rounds and there were some seriously adorable drawings produced. (And some seriously terrifying ones, as well.)

And now two more drawings that I did from other rounds in the game:

This is out of context, but it was a drawing I did after getting a sentence saying, "River Song and Amy Pond get married." Yes. I have officially drawn fanart of River/Amy getting married. (It was, quite naturally, then translated into River Song marrying Donna, ahaha. And it started out as "Katie and Kay getting married" aww.)

And here is another drawing I did based off a starter sentence that basically said, "The newly regenerated female!Doctor makes out with the newly regenerated female!Master on the TARDIS console while Jamie watches." Yes. You can imagine how this one developed . . .

Bwahahahaa. It was loads of fun. They weren't all Who-themed, though it was prominent. (At this point, we'd somehow put on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so some of the prompts were decidedly Potterish. And of course there were loads of inappropriate sexual content. Ahahahaha, oh, the laughter.)

GOOD TIMES Y'ALL.
