Small update. 8 Ryan wolfe (Jonathan Togo) icons....because i love him XD Definetly going to make more icons of him, and Greg Sanders (CSI) tommorow. As well as the Gardenstate icons i wanted to make earlier....and MUCC icons...and bleehh.. Plus my photoshop is still being an ass. I would have had many more Icons of him tonight, but photoshop crashed........again.

Made a lot of icons today, i had planned to make a LOT more but photoshop crashed on me and I'm too lazy to re-open it. So you'll just have to be satisfied with this batch for the next day or so. Next Update I'll have more Kiyoharu icons, some CSI: Miami icons (I just wanted to make icons of Ryan XD), Some Garden state icons, more Death note icons, and some more MUCC icons. And anything else i feel like throwing in. ALSO I am in the making of a new layout for this journal, since this one is so ugly. It will have Yukke on it, and its shiny.

I made some more icons this week. Not my best, but they are okay. I also made a colour bar if any of you are interested :) I will post more icons later this weekend, I was just sick today and this is what i made. I got the miyavi DVD on wednesday!! It is a reallly good dvd, so if you guys havn't bought it, you should!

Icon tutorial number one!

I'm watching the movie Chocolat at the moment, (johnny depp!!<3) So i thought i would right up my first tutorial during the commercials. This tutorial is written for adobe photoshop 7, but im sure you can get an idea of how to do things by looking.

We'll learn to make this icon here step by step;

Step o1:
Pick a picture. ANY picture. Preferably a large enough picture so you can resize it and edit it. I chose this picture of shou from alicenine (i have a recent obbsession with them!):

Step o2:
Next we have to resize the image. If you have adobe photoshop, select the rectangular marquee tool, and set the style to "fixed aspect ratio". That way anything you select will be a perfect square, and you can resise the image properly. Once you have it selected go to image > crop. Then go to Image > resize > and change it to a 100 x100 pixel size. (this step is confusing XD) Your image now looks like this:

Step o3:
Make a new layer, and fill it with #283568(its a color if your confused), and set the layer to exclusion! It should look like this:

Step o4:
Now we are going to give it some fun colour! We are going to add a gradient. Click the "create a new fill or adjustment layer" button on your layer tool box. Scroll up to "gradient..." and click it! Here you can pick any gradient you want. Once youve picked the one you want click okay. Then set the Gradient layer to Screen. You can play around with the opacity until you get what you like.

Step o5:
I decided i wanted to adjust the image a bit, and just shifted it over to the left a bit. This isnt a step you have to do, i just wanted to point it out so that you dont get confused why my image changed a bit. Next we are going to fill with a new gradient. Pick white as your colour, and go to the gradient fill thing from above. This time leave it so that the gradient goes from white, and fades to transparent. Put 180 in the text box beside the angle, and then hit okay. I put the gradient layer to 88 transparency. It should look something like. im sorry this step is so confusing:

Step o6:
Now I rotate my image. Go to Image > rotate > 90CW. Then i decided to add a border. I justtake the line tool, at a 10px weight and drag it across the edges. That leaves me with somewhat sharp corners, and since i dont really like that, i take the brush tool and round the corners off with it. I also smudged the bottom of the border so it fades into the image. Now it looks like this:

Step o7:
Finishing touches time. I added some text. If your curious, I made the big A behind the text on a new layer on color burn and then brought down to 72% opacity. The font i used was garamond bolded size 48pt, and i used this color #CE6586. I also rotated the text on an angle. the font i used for gradation was garamond sized 9pt. I used a letter spacing of 450. The color of the font was #B37F8F, and the layer was set 75% opacity. Then i added the same font as above, just smaller (size 3pt). It doesnt really say anything, just my own ramblings about how i dont want to go to school tommorow :P you can put your own subliminal messages in it:

And thats your icon! I hope you could understand my terrible tutorial, its my first though so give me some credit XD. Be original and have fun with your icons :D

The movie chocolat is cute, i recomend it, just incase your still reading.

Wow, Im really on an Icon making roll XD I want to learn more things to do with them, since I'm sure mine will be boring soon >_>;; Anyways, here's a dir en grey set!

Tommorow I plan on making a tutorial for everyone on how i make my icons, as well as a Miyavi and MUCC set of icons. I also will try to get some CSI, Harry potter, and some Lost icons done as well. Any suggestions as to what you want to see?
