Christmas Presents!

[ Video / Action Cianwood City - Johto ]

[ The gentle lapping of the sea splashing against the sand is the first thing the video records. A tiny Vulpix runs into the wet sand as the ocean retreats only to turn and bolt away again when the next wave crashes in to chase her back up the beach. ]

I am really not sure what happened. I used to be in Saffron City in Kanto but I woke up in Cianwood City in Johto. I recall that the weekend... no, this is like the last time this happened... I don't remember the weekend at all.

Is there anyone out there that does remember what happened?

Not that this is really a bad thing. There is a gym here I could visit and it will make delivering these Christmas presents easier on my Pokemon. I hope you all enjoy them.

[OOC: Expect either an Altaria named Mizuchi or a Pidgeotto named Fuujin to deliver these goodies. ]

❄ Anyone : Eagle has spoken to can expect a Christmas card and a gift basket of holiday candy (ribbon candy, peppermint candy canes, and chocolate covered pretzels).

❄ Bakura : Since you like to play games Eagle got you a magnetic travel sized ‘Go’ game. The pieces can be stored inside the board so that nothing ends up getting lost.
❄ Geo Metro : Geo can expect one level 3 Ditto. Eagle managed to capture that guy during that month long vacation they had at Goldenrod. Those are supposed to be nice Pokemon for breeders to have, right?
❄ Caldina : For anyone else this would be a cop out present but some how Eagle thinks you would like to have P5000. Its enough for a TM or a small shopping spree. Money, money, money!
❄ Fuu : This necklace with its red, blue, and green flower crystals reminded him of the Magic Knights. Even if the other two girls aren't here with you now he knows they are supporting you in spirit.
❄ Lacus : Your love of music is very well known so for you, one CD. This artist has a unique sound so maybe it is something you would enjoy.
❄ Chi : You really are such a sweet girl, Chi. How about a few small toys: plush shrimp, a bunch of super balls, and a small cute doll.

Illness and Attacking Pidgey Flock

[ Video / Action - Route 6, just outside of Saffron City in Kanto ]

[ The brightly flashing lights and brilliantly colored ornaments that were being hung around the city were beautiful and even a bit mysterious. Once his adventure on the route was complete Eagle made a note to ask everyone just what the occasion was.
The Commander held a Pokeball close to his chest as he ran through the tall grass before making a final impressive flip to land safely on the pathway back to Saffron. Who knew that searching for new types of Pokemon in a place like this would anger so many Pidgey? Or that they would be able to fly quite so fast…
Still Eagle and the small vulpix running along by his feet were making good time. Just a little more and they would be safe within the City’s limits. Even angered as they were surely the pokemon wouldn’t follow them in there. It was far too built up and urban for their tastes.
With a final push Eagle surged toward the City only to be brought up short by a sharp stab of pain. His hand immediately clutched his chest and his running faltered. Before he even had time to process what had happened he was rolling to a sudden stop on the ground, hacking and coughing in a vain attempt to get enough air back into his lungs to escape. The salty metallic taste of blood filled his mouth. This was not going to be a minor fit like the last one had been. This turn of illness was much more serious. It left him prone and defenseless as all he could do was kneel on the ground and struggle to breathe while Carrera did her best to snarl, trying to scare away the approaching horde of angry pidgey.
But, there were too many for one small pokemon to handle all by herself... ]

Ecruteak Badge / Tourist Information

[Video / Ecruteak City Action ]

[ Sitting near the little lake in beautiful old Ecruteak City Eagle watched the miniature waterfall fountain for a moment before he flipped open the black case he kept his badges in and placed the shiny new Fog badge in next to his other three. The angle was a little awkward as the PokeGear doing the recording was sitting next to him on the grass. A flap from the bag pocket it was sitting in partially hid the top right corner of the screen. It had apparently turned itself on when Eagle dropped his backpack onto the ground. ]

That’s four. I believe there are only four more badges left and then we can see what happens when all of the badges are collected.

[ Carrera, Eagle’s faithful starter Pokemon whimpered a little and bullied her way into his lap to curl up for a rest there. ]

Are you saying you would miss me? It is a little soon to worry about that.

[ Still his hand moved to gently pet the Pokemon’s head and that was when he noticed the PokeGear with its red recording light blinking. ]

Did that… It looks like my PokeGear has been recording my little break?

[ ~Smile~ ]

In that case maybe some one would be good enough to tell me if there is anything in Ecruteak besides the gym that I should see while I am here? A beautiful city like this must have several interesting sites.
I have heard something about a ‘Kimono Dance Theater’. Do they put on a good show there?

Halloween Costume shopping, help?

[So asked as an adorable Prince outfit is presented for approval. By the way Eagle laughs and sets the costume back onto the shelf clearly that kind of outfit was not appreciated by whoever he was showing it to. ]

I’m not really sure what you are looking in the way of a costume. Some thing scary or something more debonair?

Is there a kind of costume that would earn you more candy when you go… what did you call it… ‘Trick or Treating’?

[The Pokemon running the camera nods and yips causing Eagle to look towards the camera. ]

What? You think I should get an outfit too? I really wouldn't know what to dress as. Maybe some one can suggest something?

[ There is fruit in the air. Apples actually.

This fruit flies by the Pokegear apparently not being supported by anything other than the bowl it is sitting in. But what keeps the bowl from falling to the ground? There is no reason why it should be able to levitate like that.

[ Video / Goldenrod City Inn Action ]

[ Eagle had spent the time after the tournament recuperating in his room at the inn. Without any deadly weapons in use at the tournament his injuries had been pretty minor, minor by Eagle standards anyway, but the lasting affects of exerting himself that much were something he was still silently dealing with. It would only worry the others to learn about the weakness he felt so he didn’t bother to mention anything about it. ]

Congratulations to the winners of the tournament. This is something I have wanted to say for a while but maybe my late congratulations will still be good enough.
There were very many exciting match ups. I didn’t get to see all of the matches but the ones I did watch were very thrilling. Everyone should feel proud that they made it as far as they did.

Does Johto often hold tournaments of this nature? If that is the case maybe next time I will take on the role of spectator so I don’t miss anything.

Did anyone happen to see the posters that have been put up around town advertising the Johto Fighting Tournament? I notice it says you are allowed to use weapons in this competition. I wonder what kinds of weapons people will have. I was under the impression that all weapons were illegal here?

[It never hurts to fish for information with a friendly smile on your face. ]

I am considering signing up for this.
[Which means he already has. ]
It should be an interesting change from the more commonplace Pokemon battles that occur here.

[Since Eagle is currently working as the front desk clerk at the Goldenrod City inn a moment has to be spared as the PokeGear is set down on the table long enough to help one of the inn’s new guests check in. It doesn‘t take long and soon Eagle has the PokeGear in hand again.]

[At first the askew video only picks up the sound of teasing laughter as the two boys exited the gym with their shiny new badges. Eagle, clearly the antagonist in this situation finally stops chuckling long enough to offer a bit of sage advice. ]

You really aren’t very comfortable around girls! I thought you were just saying that because you were just shy.

[Eagle smiles and shakes his head. ]

Maybe you really should just give up on girls and focus solely on guys.

[[Bakura nearly startles at this, his eyes going wide]]

E--eeh? Wha-- what do you mean by that?

[[so paranoid!]]

I mean that you couldn’t handle the crying of one cute girl, so maybe you should try a direction you are more comfortable with.

[[Bakura's paranoid expression grew even more awkward and nervous.]]

E--Eagle, that-- that isn't...!

There is no use denying it after a reaction like that!

Sh-- she was crying!

[[panic, rising!]]

Yes, but such a strong reaction. For a minute there I thought you were going to run out of the gym and hide.

[No, it has been decided. ]

You are definitely better suited to dating gu--… Hm? Zaz?

[Eagle’s stops walking as he finally notices a furret recording the scene from the bushes. AH! Recording something like that!]

How long have you been over there?!

[[Bakura turns, looking somehow even more like a deer in headlights. Of all the things to have recorded! Poor kid looks like he's going to die of embarrassment.]]

[Caught in the act… Zaz ends his little recording session and the video fades to black.]

[OOC: Eagle in green and Bakura in blue have both just defeated the Goldenrod City gym leader. So they have shiny new badges and an awkward conversation to show off! Badges mod approved, of course. ]

Late Birthday Cake

[ It had taken him longer to recover from the trip than he had been expecting, but now that he felt up to it again there was something Eagle promised to do. Sure he originally only said he would get Bakura a cake, but why stop there? Bakura had made so many friends it only seemed right to invite them to have some cake too… and inform them about Bakura’s birthday for next year. ]

I know it is a little later than September 2 now, but as we were traveling at the time…

[ And no one informed him beforehand. ]

… well, I would like to invite any friends of Bakura’s who might be in Goldenrod City over to have a little cake with us in honor of Bakura’s birthday.

[ The flames lick up from the floor to consume the already injured Scizor. The creature crosses his arms over its chest trying to with stand the attack but the Vulpix won’t be defeated! Her flames grow in strength flashing up around her opponent until it finally fell over, unable to continue fighting this battle.
Bugsy was cordial enough about his defeat. The Hive badge was graciously offered along with a few other goodies then as the Gym leader retreated to heal his Pokemon Eagle turned to smile at the group of people who had gathered in the gym to watch this event. One person in particular caught his eye. ]

Bakura, are you going to give it a try now?

Darn curious Furret

It is nice to finally be on the road again. [The video cracks, fizzles and pops. ]

I was… [FIZZ]

There might be some Pokemon here th--
[The sound disappears as the video suddenly is flipped upside down. One can watch as Eagle stops speaking, appears surprised, and then the sound returns just in time to capture…]

Zaz! What are you doing?! That one isn’t mine, whose PokeGear are you taking apart?

[Eagle walks swiftly over and takes the partially disassembled PokeGear away from the curious Furret. A few pieces can be seen dropping off the device before the video itself finally dies. ]

[OOC: Eagle is traveling Route 32 from Violet City to Union Cave if you would like to say it was your character’s PokeGear that Zaz just took apart feel free to. He is a very mechanically curious Pokemon and might even have bothered to disassemble quite a few PokeGear or other devices along the way. ]

Pokemon Name Meanings

Most of the characters in the Magic Knight Rayearth series are named after cars… continuing that tradition, Eagle’s Pokémon are also! Though if asked, Eagle will likely wonder what a car is… These kinds of names are very common in the Cephirian system!

Carrera, Eagle’s 1st Pokémon is named after the Porshe Carrera GT. While not actually named after Hikaru, this Pokémon does remind Eagle a good deal of her.

The Commander’s 2nd Pokémon is named Solectria… but will often be shortened to just Sol. This Pokémon’s temperament was so much like a certain Sub Commander that he was named after the Solectria, a Geo Metro car that has been converted to run on electricity.

The 3rd Pokémon is Astina. Due to his unique ability to charm birds and his reserved nature this Pokémon is named after the European Mazda Astina… whose Japanese name is the Mazda Lantis.

The Sentret is named after a Ukrainian auto manufacturer called "Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant." This also happens to be the same company Eagle's mecha loving engineer, Zazu, was named after.

Fuujin is of course named after Fuu, which is why I have spelled it this way. Fujin is the Japanese God of wind.

Mizuchi named after the Magic Knight of water, Umi. This blue Pokemon not only is in Umi's trademark color but also becomes a dragon type as it evolves. It fits since Umi's Runegod is a blue dragon. In Japanese folklore, Mizuchi 蛟 or 虯 was a river dragon and water deity.

Falkner battle

[The smiling face of a giant furret appears on the screen before two feet and a whirl of color later the view shifts as the fuzzy cameraman pans the PokeGear over to document the scene before him. A moment like this needed to be filmed!
The distressed Gym Leader Falkner sadly looks at his fainted Pokemon before brushing the blue hair out of his eyes and addressing his opponent.]

My dad’s cherished bird Pokemon… but a defeat is a defeat. All right. Take this official Pokemon league badge…

[Falkner’s eyes suddenly widen as the camera zooms in on his stunned face. ]

Oh, hey! Are you alright?

[The gym leader rushes across the arena amid the sound of haggard coughing . The video abruptly ends shortly after as the furret allows the device to slip from his paws and tumble to the ground. ]

Monks with Bellsprouts

[Video or Action at Sprout Tower]

[The monk stood his ground sending out his last Pokemon, a Bellsprout. Really? This would be easy then. ]

Astina, that is enough. It is Carrera’s turn.

[It might be a surprise to any one who had met Astina to notice that not only had he been battling again but he had evolved into an Umbreon. Even more of a shock would have been the 5’11” Furret standing by Eagle’s side.
The Bellsprout used vine whip which Carrera scrunched down as close to the ground as she could to brace for the vine‘s impact. She took a little damage, but it was no where near enough to end the battle.]

Carrera, use Ember.

[Recovering from the whipping swiftly she hopped to her feet and Used Ember just as Eagle had asked her to. It was super effective and the enemy Bellsprout fainted from just the one hit. The monk nodded, not happy that he had lost but sort of expecting it. Sage Li handed over the prize, HM Flash and some money… to which Eagle smiled.]

Thank you Sage Li, that was a fun battle and this HM should come in very handy. I know just the cave to use it in.

Route 29 - Character Relations

	Bakura Ryou shiromadoushi Status: Best Friend Bakura has been a steady friend and near constant companion from the very moment Eagle arrived in Johto. Because of this and Bakura’s gentle nature Eagle feels very protective of the boy and considers him some thing of a ‘little brother’ figure. Bakura is unbelievably fun to tease since he is always so quick to blush. This is something Eagle can’t help but find adorable.
	Ororo Munroe "Storm" ridingthewinds (Has left Johto) Status: Acquaintance / Travel Companion Eagle doesn’t know a great deal about Ororo however he did enjoy the time they spent together traveling from New Barktown to Cherrygrove and he does find her a very nice person.
	Caldina gorgeouscharmer Status: Friend Eagle likes Caldina and considers her a very interesting person to talk to, but he is also suspicious of her. A few of the things she has said / done cause him to wonder about her true motivations. She has a great love of money and seems willing to do just about anything to get more of it… but she does have a sweet compassionate side as well. Eagle can‘t help but like her.
	Fai D. Flowright cheerfulfacade (Has left Johto) Status: Friend Fai is a very familiar kind of person. He hides things that bother him behind a smile. Since Eagle does the same thing, perhaps that is why he found such a instant connection with Fai. He fully intended to look out for Fai and help him with his Pokemon, but he appears to have been able to return to his world.
	Frances Middleford abovetemptation (Has left Johto) Status: Friend Ms. Middleford can be abrupt and overly concerned about formalities but her straight forward nature is appreciated. There is no doubt where she stands on any issue she is asked about!
	Geo Metro geo_metro Status: Best Friend / Crush Geo is a constant friend and a source of strength when ever Eagle needs a little support. He is very loyal and dedicated to his Commander. They grew up together and because very close friends on Autozam. Later they also served on the same ship, the NSX.
	Hououji Fuu phoenix_temple Status: Friend As one of the Legendary Magic Knights Fuu originally started out as an enemy since Eagle was trying to capture the Pillar System and the girls were trying to protect Cephiro. Over time though this slowly began to change since the ladies were so sweet, Hikaru especially. By the end, when he knew he was out of time and the illness he had was going to kill him he went out in the FTO to defend Cephiro and help the Magic Knights.
	Lacus Clyne lc_whitequeen (Has left Johto) Status: Friend Lacus is a very sweet young lady and Eagle has enjoyed talking to her. She seems compassionate and full of wonder about the world. He enjoyed the one occasion where they were able to have tea together, but wished her departure hadn’t been quite so sudden. It really didn‘t give him a chance to say goodbye.
	Anew Returner cristal_promise Status: Friend Anew is another sweet young lady who seems really concerned not only for the welfare of people but also the Pokemon. This is a very endearing quality. Her offer to help him learn how to cook and the way she stood up when she felt Bakura was being mistreated were all very thoughtful sweet things to do.

Shedinja Hunt

[Video / Action for Route 32 near Violet City]

So we finally know the reason so many of our friends have fallen asleep. Their souls have been stolen by a Pokemon called Shedinja. While this seems difficult to believe… that kind of creature must possess some form of magic that allows them to capture souls. Do not look into the hole on their backs. Apparently looking there is what grants the Pokemon the ability to take possession of your soul.
I encourage everyone to try and capture these Pokemon. If you head to a Pokemon Center the nurses will hand you the black colored Pokeballs that were mentioned in the transmission made by Professor Oak. The creatures themselves are weak to fire and flying attacks, I am not sure what else.

Just so we can get some kind of count of how many of these Pokemon are on the loose could you list how many Shedinja you have seen in an area and how many you have been able to capture?
I have been able to capture three of these Pokemon on Route 3...

[Eagle is interrupted as Astina drives another Shedinja from the tall grass. He quickly looks to the ground as he calls out the name, “Carrera!” The Vulpix hops into the battle, launching the fire attack Eagle wants without him even having to say it, since at this point they have fallen into a sort of Pokemon catching rhythm. Shedinja attempts to harden but the fire attack is far too powerful. It wiggles uncomfortably before its last defense falls. It crashes to the ground only to be greeted a moment later by one of those earlier mentioned black Pokeballs.
Once this capture is collected and placed safely into his backpack Eagle returns to address the PokeGear again.]

Sorry about the interruption. I have captured four of these creatures on Route 32 so far those are the only ones I have seen here, but I will keep looking until I am sure we have captured them all.

Catching a Pidgey

[The Pidgey falls from the air as it is soundly buffeted by the electric attack. It isn’t a hard fall since the creature had only just attempted its escape and therefore hadn’t been able to fly very high before the attack struck.
It comes to rest in the tall grass but only for a moment as a Pokeball soon bounces off the Pokemon’s back and draws the unconscious creature inside.

Astina, an Eevee, is the first to run over and bring the ball back to Eagle. ]

You are really excited about this one, aren’t you? I remember how much you like birds.

[Picking up the Pokeball Eagle then looks at Sol, the Mareep whose electrical attack allowed for the Pidgey’s capture.]

Good work, Sol.
Now we will have to think up a name for this one. Do you have any ideas?

In the tall grass

[Video / Action for Route 29 near Cherrygrove]

[The tall grass parts uncovering the Sentret who thought it was hiding there. Reflexively it stands up on its tail to get a better look at just what had found it, giving the trainer more than enough time to bark an order.]

Astina, tackle attack.

[The Eevee doesn’t move.]

Astina… I said use tackle!

[Still nothing. The Eevee just sits back on his haunches fully prepared to do absolutely nothing. Eagle almost snarls at the Pokemon who has decided not to follow his orders… but there isn’t time for that now. [The Mareep hops forward presenting no sign of the disobedience the other Pokemon had shown. ]

[While prepared for a normal attack even the fully on guard Sentret can’t shield itself when paralyzed by the electricity coursing through its body. ]

Now, use thundershock.

[The wild Pokemon shudders and almost in slow motion tips off its carefully balanced tail, face planting into the dirt. In an instant the Pokeball appears over the Sentret’s head drawing it inside. The ball wiggles, once, twice, and then it is still. ]

[A sudden bright light and when it faded away Eagle found he was no longer on the route he had been traveling on. ]

What?? This is… New Barktown, isn’t it?

[His Pokemon trio wandered around near his feet as if trying to confirm this sudden change had actually happened. But a glance at the tiny City was enough to confirm the truth.]

How were we able to teleport here? Are the Abra able to do something like this…?

[But, it was even better than that! He looked down and suddenly realized that there was a diminutive rounded machine sitting on the back of his gloved hand. With a cocky smile he added triumphantly. ]

Evening Recon Mission

[Video - Friday Evening]

[The black clad Commander hits the ground with a roll leaving the roof of the Violet City Gym in dramatic fashion after a little reconnaissance mission. He smiles at the Mareep and Eevee waiting for him under a nearby tree before joining them to relay the information he had recovered. Eagle was totally unaware that his third Pokemon, a Vulpix, had been playing with his PokeGear and recording this little evening raid. ]

This city’s gym leader is Falkner his Pokemon are all flying types so they should be weak to you Sol because you have that new electric attack.

[The Astina the Eevee listens closely and Sol the Mareep nods upon learning his role in the upcoming battle. ]

However, they are all level 30 or higher. We should do a bit more training before trying to…

[The video suddenly shifts and tumbles to the ground as Carrera the Vulpix looses her footing on the dewy ground. As she stumbles the piece of technology is dropped and her role as a videographer is betrayed. ]

Carrera!

Are you hurt? [Once he sees that she isn’t. ]
I know this isn’t exactly a military mission but there are times when recording video is… inconvenient...

The eggs hatch!

[Carrera comes closer, sniffing the newest team member... Before yipping loudly and deciding this creature was going to be a great new friend! The Mareep seems to agree as he reaches out a paw to pat the little Vulpix on the head but accidentally ends up giving her a bit of a static charged shock from his overly electrically charged fluff. The poor guy instantly looks ashamed and incredibly apologetic. But, he really needn’t have worried. He is instantly forgiven.
In the background the second egg begins to wiggle and then shine with a bright light, leaving an Eevee where the egg used to be. He blinks as his eyes adjust to the sunlight. But, instead of joining the others he hangs back, just casually watching.
Eagle can‘t be seen on the video but he must be there because soon after the second egg hatches the PokéGear is used to scan the new arrivals to find out more about them.]

Mareep, the wool Pokémon. Mareep stores static electricity in their wooly coat. They avoid battle and have a mild dispositions.

Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. Eevee is a unique Pokémon that can adept to its environment by changing its form and abilities when evolving.

So you were what was inside those eggs. Now I suppose I will have to think up names for you both.
[A voice that sounds as happy as ever as Eagle lays the PokéGear to one side in the mistaken belief that, after recording the hatching that so many people had been curious about, he had turned the device off. ]

I wonder if it is very common for Pokémon to so remind their trainer of people they know…

Cliffs and Eggs

[Video - Action : For people on Route 30 near Cherrygrove City]

[ A smiling jovial face appears on the screen of the PokéGear. Sure he maybe halfway up a cliff and slowly sliding back down to the ground… which thankfully isn’t that far away… but he still sounds amused and maybe, just a touch confused, when he finally addresses the device. ]

These cliffs…
[He lands easily on the ground and is able to better handle the PokéGear instead of making his Vulpix hold onto it. ]

… they are very unique. They aren’t that high and there are plenty of footholds, but I can’t make it to the top anyway.
[Eagle closes his eyes and chuckles. ]
No matter how many times I try I always end up back on the ground again.

[Carrera chimes in with a small cry that seems to indicate, “And he has tried a lot! He’s very
stubborn!”]

Is this some kind of magic?

Also, I do have a question about eggs. I seem to have acquired two of them and I’m not certain I have been caring for them in quite the right way.

[He walks over to the shade where his backpack is and there nestled amongst the sleeping bag are the two eggs. They look cozy and secure inside that bag, but just to be on the safe side Eagle moves the small compact survival knife he purchased at the PokéMart into another pocket. ]

You just keep them from getting too hot or too cold and make sure nothing damages them? Is that all there is to it?

Carrera has been taking this job very seriously.

[As if on cue when a tiny Caterpie comes crawling out of the tall grass, the Vulpix runs over to it and roars boldly to scare the creature away from the eggs. Her over protectiveness again causes the Commander to chuckle.]

With all of this travel she seems to have learned a new skill.

Suddenly in a Pokémon World

[ At first the video only shows a paw as it stumbles to walk over the PokéGear and accidentally steps on the video button. Then a nose as the object is thoroughly sniffed. But a muffled nearby cry is enough to draw the small Vulpix’s attention away from its investigations and over to the young man asleep on the twin sized bed. He tosses, mussing his fair colored hair and clutches at the blankets as he winces in pain. Though there is no visible source of this discomfort it seems quite real to him.
As the Vulpix tilts its head, sadly calling out in sympathy, the young man startles and suddenly sits bolt upright. He appears dazed and takes a moment looking around the small room before bringing a hand up to gently hold his head. ]

This isn’t Cephiro… A nightmare…?
No, that can’t be right.

[ The man slowly looks at his hands, flexing the fingers as if he is surprised that he can do so. ]

That battle… were the Magic Knights able to win?
I don’t remember anything after that light. What happened? Does this mean… I’m not dead after all?

This egg was an Easter item given out in April 2011 by a Mod-run event.
This little guy really likes bird Pokémon and the feeling seems to be mutual! He is pretty aloof and only allows people he really likes to get close to him. For some reason he had decided to stop gaining levels... Eagle didn’t figure out why until one night after a long day of training Astina evolved into an Umbreon. Apparently the Eevee wanted to be one the entire time and he had to wait until he was happy enough to evolve.
