NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD

"NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD"

“NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD”

When I woke up this morning, the first thing I heard in my spirit is “Nothing is impossible with God”.

Then I heard it again, “Nothing is impossible with God”.

My mind then went on some of the things that I want to see manifested in my life and the lives of others, and I heard it again, “Nothing is impossible with God”.

Next, an old chorus written by Eugene L. Clarke in 1966 that we used to sing many, many years ago at my former place of worship came to mind.

The words are as follows:-

“Nothing is impossible when you put your trust in God;

Nothing is impossible when you’re trusting in His Word.

Hearken to the voice of God to thee;
”Is there anything too hard to Me?”

Then put your trust in God alone and rest upon His Word;

For ev’rything, O, ev’rything, yes ev’rything is possible with God.”

“Nothing is impossible with God”.

So what does impossible mean?

According to Dictionary.Com, impossible has the following meanings:-

Impossible

1.  “Not able to occur, exist, or be done”

2. “Very difficult to deal with”

“Nothing is impossible with God”

Nothing is “not able to occur, exist or be done” with God.

Nothing is “very difficult to deal with” with God.

SELAH!

Are you facing an impossible situation today?

Your marriage is “on the rocks”, you hurt deeply and are at a total lost as to how to make it better .

Your child is in a season of waywardness and rebellion and no matter how much you try to help them “see the light”, no change for the better  is evident.

Your finances are so messed up you don’t even know how to start to tunnel out of the dark cave of debt.

Your career was finally “taking off” now talks of downsizing and closure ring in the atmosphere.

Your doctor just gave a bad report with a terrible prognosis.

Whatever your situation, it may be impossible to you, but it is not impossible to God.

“Nothing is impossible with God”

In Matthew 19:26 in response to a situation deemed not possible by his disciples, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

“Nothing is impossible with God”

When faced with “impossible” situations, it is critical that we trust in the fact that God is good, He loves us, and He is well able to execute His will in any situation……He is God!

Seek His wisdom, repent of any exposed sin, follow His instructions to you, align your life with His Word, praise and worship Him in spite of your circumstance, thank Him in advance for working things out in a way that He knows is best for you, and rely upon His grace to make bring you through.

“Nothing is impossible with God”

Below are three music videos based on the fact that nothing is impossible with God.

Think for a moment about your “impossible” situation then listen to the words of each of them and let your faith in the mighty, loving, faithful, wise God you serve arise.

DECIDE TO HAVE A GOOD DAY TODAY

DECIDE TO HAVE A GOOD DAY TODAY

"DETERMINE TO HAVE A GOOD DAY"

“DECIDE TO HAVE A GOOD DAY”

I challenge you this morning to decide to have a good day today no matter what comes your way.

To decide in advance to not allow any person or situation you meet steal your joy, peace and sense of purpose.

According to Romans 8:28, all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Do you love God?

Are you called according to His divine purpose?

Well guess what?

Even if something does not look good, feel good, or sound good, God will work it for your good so at the end of the day, it’s all good!

So rise up to the challenge, decide now to have a good day, and let this song by J. Moss bless and motivate you.

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

(Psalms 118:24 – NIV, 1984)

Be encouraged and have a good day!

WORK STRESS? – CHECK OUT THESE STRATEGIES!

WORK STRESS? – CHECK OUT THESE STRATEGIES!

"GOD I NEED HELP"

“I NEED HELP!”

If you are a Believer experiencing problems in your workplace,

"THIS IS TOO MUCH"

“THIS IS TOO MUCH!”

here are 21 Kingdom strategies to help you overcome your situation instead of allowing it to overcome you.

  1. Ask God for wisdom; seek His perspective on the situation – Ask what, not why?  What is happening? What are You saying? What should I do? Ask when? Ask how? Ask with whom? (James 1:5, 6)
  2. See if you are contributing to the problem – Ask God to search your heart (Psalms 139:23)
  3. Be Spirit led, not emotionally driven (Romans 8:14)
  4. Guard your mind; beware of carnal thinking – To be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 6:7,8)
  5. Do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly (Psalms 1:1) – If needed, seek counsel from a trustworthy, mature Believer (Proverbs 24:6).
  6. Pray always and in all ways (I Thessalonians 5:17; Philippians 4:6; James 5:16)
  7. Have a season mentality (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
  8. Know that it came to pass (The phrase “it came to pass” is used 2202 in the Word)
  9. Keep a teachable spirit – there are valuable lessons that can be learned in your situation (Psalms 25:5; 27:11)
  10. Rely on God’s grace, not our own strength – Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God so that you will be able to stand against the strategies and tricks of the devil (Ephesians 6:10, 11)
  11. Hold fast to a Kingdom perspective (you are not just an employee but salt to preserve, light to show the way, an ambassador representing the Kingdom of God, a mighty warrior with the Lord on your side, not working or enduring for man but for the Lord, etc.)
  12. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude – Praise and be raised, complain and remain (I Thessalonians 5:18; I Corinthians 10:10)
  13. Watch your words – Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21), by our words we are justified and by our words we are condemned (Matthew 12:37)
  14. Focus on God’s Kingdom agenda more than on what you are experiencing personally (Matthew 6:33)
  15. Remember that work-related burdens are often character building tools in God’s hands – He often uses people and things in the work environment to mold us and break us so that the treasure in our earthen vessels can freely flow out. (II Corinthians 4:7)
  16. Wait on the Lord (patiently – Psalms 37:7; singlemindedly – Psalms 62:7; expectantly – Psalms 62:5, 6; Longingly Psalms 130:5, 6; quietly – Lamentations 3:26; joyfully – James 1:2)
  17. Shun worry (Matthew 6:34; Philippians 4:6)
  18. Trust in the Lord (Proverbs 3:5, 6; Isaiah 26:3)
  19. Hold on to your joy (Nehemiah 8:10; Philippians 4:4)
  20. Hold on to your peace (Isaiah 26:3, Philippians 4:6, 7)
  21. Remember that God loves you and no matter what is going on He desires your good in the end (Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28, 35-39)

Be encouraged!

ANCIENT WISDOM FOR WORKPLACE SUCCESS

ANCIENT WISDOM FOR WORKPLACE SUCCESS

"WORK AS UNTO THE LORD"

“WORK AS UNTO THE LORD”

Today I’m sharing some ancient wisdom from Colossians 3:22-25 that I believe will help you as you navigate the waters of success in your workplace.

Colossians 3 verse 22 states, “Servants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not only when their eyes are on you as pleasers of men, but in simplicity of purpose [with all your heart] because of your reverence for the Lord and as a sincere expression of your devotion to Him. (Amplified Bible)

Workplace Wisdom Nuggets

Do whatever your boss asks you to do…once it does not violate the principles and ethics of the Word of God of course.

Don’t just do it when your boss is observing you, deceptively trying to impress him/her with a false sense of diligence on your part, but do it consistently and put your heart into it; make consistent diligence a part of your daily personal work ethic.

Work this way not because of your boss, but because it is what the Lord requires of you; do it out of your devotion to Him and your desire to honor Him.

Verse 23 states, “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,” (Amplified Bible)

Workplace Wisdom Nuggets

Whatever your assignment, do it with enthusiasm and excellence as if doing it for the Lord, not for your boss.

When you work for your boss, you risk the danger of subjecting your performance efforts to the grid of his/her temperament, character or actions and this can make you susceptible to “nice boss you get nice work – nasty boss you get nasty work” syndrome.

To safeguard against this, obey the Word and choose to work unto the Lord, i.e., to work as if doing your tasks for Him and not for your boss.

In this way, whether negative or positive, your boss’ temperament, character or actions will have no bearing on the way you perform your duties and you will more easily work in excellence.

So what is the motivation in taking this stance?

Verse 24 states, “Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah).” (Amplified Bible)

Workplace Wisdom Nuggets

Kn0w and recognize that at the end of the day, your real reward is not coming from your boss, but from the Lord for it is Him that you actually serve.

It is critical to hold fast to this truth because not only will it help you keep putting your best foot forward, it will also help you be focused, strong, and have the spiritual fortitude to overcome any test of adversity in your workplace, knowing the Lord is on your side.

Whatever you do in time God will reward in eternity, and that reward is certain.  While it is desirous to receive some rewards for your work while here on earth, even when they are not forthcoming from your earthly boss, you can rest assured that they will be forthcoming from your “heavenly boss”.

Finally, verse 25 states, “For he who deals wrongfully will [reap the fruit of his folly and] be punished for his wrongdoing. And [with God] there is no partiality [no matter what a person’s position may be, whether he is the slave or the master].” (Amplified Bible)

Workplace Wisdom Nuggets

No matter the circumstances in your workplace, do what is right in God’s eyes.

If you deal wrongfully it is not wise because you will receive punishment for your wrong doing and if your boss deals wrongfully, it is also not wise because he/she will receive punishment for his/her wrongdoing.

God does not play favorites, God does not play the blame game, and God does not justify one wrong with another so it is best that both you and your boss do what He deems right…selah!

That’s today’s ancient wisdom from Colossians 3:22-25 to help you as you navigate the waters of success in your workplace.

Here’s the same scripture from The Message Bible.

“Servants, do what you’re told by your earthly masters. And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best.

Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance.

Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ.

The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work.”

(Colossians 3:22-25 – The Messsage Bible)

Be encouraged to meditate on and implement these principles and remember, promotion does not come from the east, west or south but it comes from the Lord (Psalms 75:6, 7) so its best to do things His way for His honor and glory and in His time, your reward will come.

Blessings!

Kim

HELP AND HEALING FOR THE BROKENHEARTED

HELP AND HEALING FOR THE BROKENHEARTED

“GOD CAN HEAL YOUR BROKEN HEART”

“Heartbroken – extremely sad and upset”

www.macmillandictionary.com

“Heartbroken – overcome by sorrow”

www.merriam-webster.com

Are you extremely sad, upset, or overcome with sorrow because of a negative experience or bad situation?

I can’t believe they let me go just like that. I worked 30 years for this company. I gave it the best years of my life. I worked hard and went above and beyond the call of duty, working late into the evenings, and on many week-ends, and holidays. I anticipated and met the needs of my bosses and always exceeded their requirements and now,  just like that, they say I have to go. It’s like all my efforts over all these years meant nothing to them. It’s like I meant nothing to them. – Heartbroken Employee.

I faithfully loved my husband. I supported him and stood by him through thick and thin. I did all that I could to please him and meet his needs. I took good care of my appearance, our children and our home. I was a friend to him, a companion…..or so I thought. Yet in spite of it all,  I found out he is having an affair, and it is not the first. – Heartbroken Wife

We raised our children in the knowledge and ways of the Lord and provided everything that they needed to succeed yet our son turned to a wayward, destructive lifestyle and is now addicted to meth and our brilliant and beautiful daughter says she is pregnant, does not want to go to college anymore and is moving in with her boyfriend. –  Heartbroken Parents

No matter what I do it’s never good enough for my father. He always criticizes my efforts and finds some way to minimize my achievements. It’s as if  he has pleasure in belittling me and making me feel like less of a man. My wife, kids, colleagues, friends, and associates all accept, respect and celebrate me but not him.  How I long for him to just love, accept and celebrate me as his son…… just simply for who I am. – Heartbroken Son

I thought he loved me and wanted to be with me. He said he would honor my decision to wait until we get married to have sex but he forced himself on me and took from me what I can never get back, my virginity. I trusted him and he violated me. How could he do this? I trusted him! Now he says he does not want to continue in our relationship and won’t return my calls and there’s a new picture of him on Facebook hugging another girl.  How could he do this to me? – Heartbroken Teen Girl.

“I TRUSTED YOU”

It was a long time ago. I was just a little boy but it seems like yesterday. I knew he should not  touch me the way he did. It felt wrong, but he said it was okay and  it was our little secret. One day it turned into full-blown sex and he threatened to kill me if  told anyone or refused to do it. He continued to molest me for years until one day I could not take it anymore and took the risk and ran away. Now as man, I really want a heterosexual relationship that leads to marriage and I want to have kids, but because my past abuse something keeps drawing me to a homosexual lifestyle. This is so hard. I feel cheated. I feel like damaged goods. – Heartbroken Victim of Sexual Abuse

I trusted him with everything in the business. He was my best friend and confidant. He knew everything about the operation. I paid him well and gave him benefits above and beyond what he deserved. I can’t believe he swindled me like this. after all of these years of working so hard and making so many sacrifices to build this business, now I have nothing. – Heartbroken Businessman

My wife is the most cherished person in my life. I worked hard and provided everything for her and my children. I spent time with them and did all I could for them; I’m even known among our family, friends and community as good a husband and father, and after all of this, she left me for another man who will “make her happy”. How could this happen? I’ll never get over this! – Heartbroken Husband

After 7 years of trying we were finally pregnant. Oh the joy! Oh the excitement! We did everything we could to make sure that our baby would be fine. We kept every pre-natal appointment, ate healthy, took the recommended vitamin supplements, got proper and adequate exercise and rest, avoided exposure to any potentially harmful substances, prayed. Eight months had passed and things seemed  perfect until one morning my wife said there was no movement. We quickly made a doctor’s appointment and after evaluation, received the crushing news that our baby had died. We could not believe it. Childless again, we’re devastated. – Heartbroken Young Couple

So many wonderful memories……birthday parties, sleep overs, family gatherings, the day we finally finished the pool, the basketball games on the driveway, cell group meetings in the great room, camping in the garden, and best of all, chatting over dinner in the kitchen…….so many wonderful memories. They are all we have left since the foreclosure. 20 years of faithfully paying our mortgage, unexpected job loss, now its all gone. What took years to acquire swept away in a matter of months…. all gone, all gone. – Heartbroken Former Homeowners.

I prayed and prayed and hoped and hoped that she was okay, but when I kept calling and she did not answer the phone, I knew something was gravely wrong. When I arrived at her house the front door was ajar and I entered slowly, feeling sick in my stomach all the while somehow knowing what I would see. As I turned the corner into the kitchen I screamed. There on the floor lay the lifeless body of my baby, her face beaten black and blue and a gunshot wound to her head. Barely able to breathe, with hands shaking, I dialed 911. My greatest nightmare had come true. My daughter was a victim of domestic violence that had escalated out of hand. I told her to leave Bill until he got some help but somehow she just couldn’t. She thought he would change. Now she is gone and my heart’s broken. – Heartbroken Mother

“IT BROKE MY HEART”

Can you identify with any of these scenarios?

Maybe your experience is different but the effect is the same, you have a broken heart.

You hurt.

You hurt in unexplainable ways; ways sometimes too deep for words.

You’ve tried to shake it, forget it, pretend it really does not matter, tell yourself you’re over it and moved on, but you know that is not true.

You hurt.

Persons in your life have no idea what is going in inside of you.

Those who know what you went through feel as if you are fine because of the passage of time, your cheerful outward appearance, gusto for life, and pursuit and accomplishment of goals………but you’re not, and you’re afraid to say or indicate otherwise.

You may feel as if you are experiencing this deep hurt all alone and that no one understands, but you know what, this is not the case.

Psalms 34:18 states:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (NIV, 1984).

Whether or not you sense His presence, in the midst of your hurt and pain, the Lord is close. He is nearby. He is not far away and unconcerned and He is touched by your feelings of brokenness because He knows what it is to experience deep pain.

Speaking of the Lord, Isaiah 53:3-5 states:

“We despised him and rejected him;
 he endured suffering and pain.
No one would even look at him—
we ignored him as if he were nothing. But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne.
All the while we thought that his suffering
was punishment sent by God. But because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did.
We are healed by the punishment he suffered,
made whole by the blows he received.” (Good News Translation – GNT)

“HE KNOWS WHAT IT WAS TO SUFFER”

Considering what He went through, you can rest assured that Jesus can identify with your suffering and pain and not only does He identify, He cares.

I Peter 5:7 states:

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” ( NLT)

In the midst of your  brokeheartedness you are not alone. God is close, He understands, He cares and He knows about your sorrow and tears.

Psalms 56:8 states:

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”  NLT)

Wow!

While all of this is good news, there is even better news.

Jesus speaking in Luke 4;18, 19 states:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (NIV, 1984)

According to this scripture, one of the key assignments of Jesus is to heal the brokenhearted – Isn’t that good news!

Not only did He come to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10), destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8), that we may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10), and to preach the Kingdom of God (Luke 4:43), but also to heal the brokenhearted.

The healing of your broken heart is that important to God…….that’s amazing!

Psalms 147:3 states:

“He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” (NIV, 1984)

The Lord heals broken hearts and your broken heart is no exception.

He can heal it too.

His healing is available for you.

All you have to do is believe it, then by faith receive it.

Know though that sometimes this healing is instantaneous and other times it is a process; the path is up to God, not up to us. Our part is to believe and receive, and when necessary, do whatever He tells us in order for its complete manifestation.

Whatever the case, no matter how God chooses to do it, healing for your broken heart is available and it is real…….You do have to stay in your present state of emotional pain and turmoil………….I am a testimony!

So, do you believe that Jesus is able to heal your broken heart and are you ready to receive this healing?

If you are, let’s pray.

Father, you declare in your Word that healing is available for the brokenhearted so I stand on this truth and bring this brokenhearted person before you. In your sovereignty you know who they are, you know the details of their situation, and you know exactly what broke their heart. In the name of Jesus I now ask you to release your divine healing power upon them. Touch in ways that only you can touch. Mend in ways that only you can mend. Cleanse in ways that only you can cleanse. Stabilize their mind and calm their emotions. Bring peace where peace is needed, your supernatural peace. By the power of your Holy Spirit remove the deep hurt, remove the anger, remove the desire for revenge, and enable forgiveness. Empower them to release the situation and all persons, places and things associated with it to you so they can move on and truly live. Father thank you for complete healing, restoration and wholeness. Thank you for strengthening them and making them better instead of bitter. Thank you for raising them up to use what the enemy meant for evil and destruction in their life for good and construction in the lives of others. Thank you for enabling them to compassionately help other brokenhearted persons find their way to freedom. I ask these things in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Be encouraged!

WORK STRESS? – GOD IS AT WORK!

WORK STRESS? – GOD IS AT WORK!

“WORK STRESS? – GOD IS AT WORK!”

Today is the beginning of another work week for millions of Believers around the world.

Many joyfully anticipate returning to work after the weekend, but some cringe at the very thought because of difficult situations they face in their workplace.

Even now some are thinking:

“God how will I make it through another week?”.

“I am so tired of dealing with this situation!”

“Lord why? Why do I have to go through this, I can’t take anymore!”

“Will a change ever come?”

To you who are going through intense trials in the workplace, know that the trial has not come to destroy you, but to make you stronger; what the enemy means for evil, God means for good.

Take a minute and mentally and emotionally step back from your current difficult situation at work.

Could it be that God is allowing the situation to stimulate changes in your character?

Could it be that the situation or person(s) is in your life as a “fruit cultivating tool”; a tool in the hands of God allowed for the purpose of cultivating a higher level of spiritual maturity in some area of your character, perhaps to further develop patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control or peace and joy in spite of your outward circumstances?

Could it be that God is allowing the situation to deepen your love walk, to increase your capacity to show His love to the people involved in spite of their wrong doing or ill attitudes toward you?

Perhaps it is there to allow the opportunity for God to give you hands on training in spiritual warfare, in fighting the enemy His way using His spiritual weapons and not your carnal ones.

Or could it even be a test of obedience? Is everything about the situation saying you don’t have to deal with this, get a transfer, resign, leave, run,  just get away, but within your heart, in the very depths of your spirit, you know the Lord wants you to stay and go through the process even though at times it feels like it is killing you?  – Well maybe it is killing you; killing your fleshly nature and thereby strengthening your spirit man so that your life can bring more glory to God.

Or maybe it is to enable a new level of spiritual perseverance and fortitude in you and to deepen your relationship with God your revelation of His reality and relevance to your work life.

Hhhhhhhmmm.

There are so many plausible reasons why God is allowing this situation in your life and He may or may not reveal them to you at this point, but whatever the case, you can rest assured that if you ask Him to see the situation through His eyes and to give you the wisdom and grace to handle it according to His ways, what the enemy intends to use to cause you harm, God will turn around for your good.

Remember, God’s ultimate purpose is to conform us to the image of His Son Jesus Christ for His glory and that trials, even those that arise in out workplace, are a key part of His tool box.

Selah!

So this morning, as you begin another work week, prayerfully look at your situation and ask yourself,

What may God be trying to work out of me?

What aspect of Christ’s character might He be seeking to develop in me?

How can I use this situation to draw nearer to God and to bring glory to His name?

To you who are going through intense trials in the workplace, know that the trial has not come to destroy you, but to make you stronger and what the enemy means for evil, God means for good.

Here are some scriptures that you can meditate on and that will help you:-

“Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.

Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.

But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.”

(James 1:2-4, Amplified Bible)

“Beloved, do not be amazed and bewildered at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test your quality, as though something strange (unusual and alien to you and your position) were befalling you.

But insofar as you are sharing Christ’s sufferings, rejoice, so that when His glory [full of radiance and splendor] is revealed, you may also rejoice with triumph [exultantly].”

 (I Peter 4:12, 13 – Amplified Bible)

“If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [b]the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.

For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,

[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].

 (James 1:5-8 Amplified Bible)

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

(Ephesians 3:20-21, Amplified Bible)

Remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you, to obey is better than to sacrifice and this too shall pass.

AN UNORTHODOX WAY TO DEAL WITH WORKPLACE ENEMIES

An Unorthodox Way to Deal with Workplace Enemies

Enemy – “A person who feels hatred for, fosters harmful designs against, or engages in antagonistic activities against another; an adversary or opponent.” – Dictionary.com

HELPING MY WORKPLACE ENEMY

If you have a workplace enemy, this post is for you.

The Kingdom of God has many principles that make absolutely no sense to the natural mind and as such require absolute faith and trust in God to follow.

When it comes to dealing with our enemies it is no different.

In the Old Testament, Proverbs 25:21, 22 states,

“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of fire on his head, and the LORD will reward you.” – (NIV-1984)

Now before you say, “hey that’s Old Testament”, the New Testament repeats this same principle in Romans 12:19-21.

“Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (NIV-1984)

 Hhhhhmmmm!

So Lord, what you are saying is:-

a) If someone does me wrong, I must not seek revenge because  you will deal with them for me.

b) Instead of “getting them back”, if they have a need that I am aware of, I should meet it.

c) This action will bring a degree of conviction about their wrong actions upon them even if they do not admit it.

d) You will reward me for being obedient in this matter.

e) I must not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Precisely!

Wow! – Is this unorthodox or what?

Up until now, you’ve dealt with your workplace enemy your way.

Are you ready to deal with him/her God’s way?

If so, this week, instead of seeking ways to hurt, get back at or avoid your enemy, be on the alert to find ways to help and/or be kind to him/her.

Depending on the opportunity, perhaps you can:-

  • Say “good morning” even if they don’t answer
  • Hold the door or elevator for them
  • Offer to make them a cup of coffee when you get yours
  • Volunteer to help them complete a task or project
  • If they get stuck in the office lunchtime, offer to bring something back for them to eat when you go out
  • Congratulate them on a success
  • Help them to lift or move something
  • If one of their family members is ill, ask about their well-being
  • Offer to pray for them if they have a tragedy or mishap

There are a myriad of ways to be kind to, help or meet a need of your enemy, but for greatest impact, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in this regard.

When working in the corporate world, there was a particular executive that resented the fact that our superiors saw fit to appoint me as a member of the company’s executive team even though my organizational title was “Manager” and not “Assistant Vice President” or “Vice President” and he did not hesitate to openly show his disdain.

One day I met the tea lady in the kitchen making a cup of tea for this gentleman and I told her to give it to me so I could serve him the tea instead. She thought I was crazy, and told me I couldn’t do it because it was “not right” seeing that I was a manager, however I insisted so she gave in.

I placed the tea on a nice silver tray, proceeded to his office and knocked on the door.” Come in!” he grunted. I opened the door, stepped in and with a big smile said, “Good morning Mr. Brown (not his real name) how are you today? I have come to deliver your tea just the way you like it.” I then walked over to his desk, placed the tea on his coaster with a napkin beside it and said, “Enjoy!” then proceeded to leave.

He was so shocked, he could barely get the words “thank you” out of his mouth. Not only was he shocked but so was the company’s chairman who was in a meeting with him and sitting opposite his desk.

That day marked a turning point in the situation because thereon, I could see a progressive change in Mr. Brown’s attitude toward me. It did not happen overnight and there were various other instances where I assisted him when I was not obligated to do so, but it happened, praise the Lord!

Keep in mind that in reaching out to your enemy, there is no guarantee that they will respond to you favorably.

If they do, praise the Lord!………..If they don’t, praise the Lord!

Remember,  it is your obedience to the Word and subsequent promised reward from the Lord that matters most, not their response.

Also, keep I’m mind that how and when the Lord deal’s with your enemy is the Lord’s business, not yours.

Your responsibility is to trust and obey Him and He will deal with them in His way and in His time.

You may never even know how or when He deals with them, but if He allows you to know, be careful not to glory in it and have a “that’s good for you” attitude.

Proverbs 24:17, 18 states:

“Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice, or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him.”

The bottom line is that no matter what, God wants us to walk in love toward our enemies and allow Him in His wisdom and justice to deal with them as opposed to our taking the situation into our own hands and responding in a carnal, fleshly, sinful way and bringing reproach to His Name in the process.

So, are you up to the challenge?

By the grace of God, from here on purpose to deal with your workplace enemies God’s way and watch Him work it out.

Be encouraged!

A TRIBUTE TO EUNICE

A TRIBUTE TO EUNICE

Live Life, Love Life

On Tuesday past, Eunice, a lady who worked with our family as a housekeeper for 42 years went home to be with the Lord.

Her passing was quite a blow because she seemed healthy and had not complained about feeling ill in any way, yet suddenly collapsed while visiting her family in Florida and from thereon rapidly deteriorated to the point of death.

Although this has not been our first taste of death, Eunice’s passing has been a source of great pain to me and my immediate and extended family because Eunice was more to us than an employee, she was a part of our family and we loved and treated her as the same.

Eunice had no children of her own, but she considered my brothers and me to be her children and when we grew up and had children of our own, she embraced them as her own also.

I know that God divinely assigned Eunice to my family because of the love, dedication, and joy that was mutually shared between us.

I truly thank Him for her life and for the fact that she is one of His children and therefore since absent from the body, she is present with Him.

The following is a poem that I dedicate to Eunice’s memory.

TO EUNICE

What can I say?

What can I pray?

All of a sudden you’ve gone away.

You gave us no notice,

You gave us no sign,

You simply evaded us like we were blind.

Although we will see you no more in time,

You’ve left a great legacy behind.

Love, honesty, a listening ear,

Pride in your work and priceless care.

A second mother to me and my brothers,

A second grandmother to my sons and daughter.

Eunice you will be greatly missed,

Your smile, your wisdom, your pleasantness.

For 42 years God blessed us with your life,

Never a day of fussing and strife.

Father I thank you for your kindness.

Eunice sleep on and take your rest.

“Naked came I out of my mother’s womb and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”

(Job 1:21 – KJV)

“Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted”

(Matthew 5:4 – KJV

BEWARE OF COMPROMISING YOUR INTEGRITY IN THE WORKPLACE

Keep Your Integrity

This year, many Believers will face with situations in the workplace where they are pressured to compromise their integrity.

Some of us will be asked to remain silent on issues that we know we ought to speak up about, some will be asked to alter figures on financial reports to make them look better, some will be asked to destroy information in order to cover up wicked schemes, others will be asked to come in collusion with a plot to cause others to lose their employment.

These situations are ones that immediately come to mind as I write, but there will be a myriad of others presented to us as Saints in the workplace that if given in to, will lead to the compromising of our integrity.

Proverbs 25:26 states, “Like a muddied fountain and a polluted spring is a righteous man who yields, falls down, and compromises his integrity before the wicked.” – (Amplified Bible).

If faced with a workplace situation where you are pressured to compromise your integrity, picture a muddied fountain and a polluted stream and ask yourself if that is the way you want your spiritual witness viewed by those who do not know the Lord.

In the natural realm, once  a fountain is muddied or a stream polluted, no one wants to drink from it.

Compromising your integrity will contaminate the spiritual water that flows out of your life making others in your workplace not want to drink of it either.

SELAH!

“For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.  He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.  He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.”

(Proverbs 2:6-8 -NLT)

“He who walks uprightly shall be safe, but he who willfully goes in double and wrong ways shall fall in one of them.”

(Proverbs 28:18 – Amplified Bible)

By God’s grace, do not compromise your integrity in the workplace.

Be encouraged!
