A Look Back
So long, 2025
2025 was full of memoir writing, graduating our daughter from high school, working through traumatic moments, experiencing some joyful moments, going back to therapy, saying goodbye to homeschooling forever, starting a paralegal certificate program, lots of laughter, and trying to remember who I am.
I’m stepping into 2026 with curiosity more than a list of goals to accomplish.
One of the songs I had on repeat last year was All I’ve Got by Becca Jordan.
walk to middle, lay my heart on the threshing floor/ I’m not the person that I was before/ everything I had, watched it burn to the ground/ so I say a prayer as I bend down/ turn my heartache into laughter/ let my lonely become love/ I give you my anger, may it become something good/ it ain’t a lot/but it’s all I’ve got/ well time she passes so patiently/ waiting on hope to grow, sometimes it seems/ like the sun won’t ever shine again here/ I pray outloud as I speak my fears/ turn my heartache into laughter/ let my lonely become love/ I give you my anger, may it become something good/ it ain’t a lot
I ended this year listening to a lot of Jon Guerra. I can’t even count how many times I listened to this song. It’s a great song to bring with me into the new year. Maybe it will encourage you.
I see the birds up in the air
I know You feed them, I know You care
So won't You teach me how I mean more to You than them
In times of trouble, be my help again.
Happy New Year, friends.
