FireCobra is wonderfully warm - dramatic in a subtle way. No hint of artificiality at all - and as close to vintage hardware as I've heard from this kind of plugin.
FireCobra is exactly what it’s name suggests. It adds fire and bite to your audio whilst still maintaining warmth. This plugin is fantastic. I particularly like it on my drums bus to add clarity and a touch of grit.
Firecobra is great, it’s like that mythical “better” button we used to joke that should be included on every mixing console! It’s really good for adding warmth and verve to cold signals and just bringing some character and life to things.
Crunchy tube-style distortion with a smooth grit. Perfect for subtle harmonic compliments, to extreme coloured effects. I use it on any track that needs that unique tube character.
I was working on a mix which had many layers of acoustic guitars. We needed one particular guitar track to stand out, but making it louder got in the way of the vocal. Using FireCobra on this guitar track I was easily able to bring it out from the other layers and make it easier to hear without actually raising the level of the track. The result was very pleasing sonically. The various controls give you a range of flavours for doing this sort of work without things sounding distorted or muddy, which is often a problem with other saturators. I can see I'll be using FireCobra a lot to help separate elements of a mix.
It’s super easy to use and the exorbitant FireCobra will even shapeshift a boring DAW click track into a world-class performance.
