If I had a soul, I'm quite sure it'd be sucked out by now. Alas that I don't, and neither do the young men to whom I sold their weekly dose of chemical strength. Doesn't that make things seem so much emptier? More room for the more important things in life, perhaps.

Supposing I did have a soul, it'd be bruised, too, by the long silence from my dearest family members. Sasuke, Itachi, tell me something I've not heard before.

One thing must be said for this place--it certainly attracts the most interesting people. I don't think I've encountered such fascinating personages in some time. I rather like it; if the people here were boring, I don't know how long I could last!

Though, there are some odd, inexplicable things...

How are you doing, dear nephew? Any thoughts on what we discussed when we met, or did your brief bout of amnesia truly wipe it from your mind?

I talked to a man in the Igura tournament today.

It was a most enlightening conversation, or at least, it was until he bought Rain off me. Despite that it was explained to me by my new employer, I don't think I'll ever understand the reasons that warriors pollute their bodies thus, but as I was told by this buyer, it made him overcome fear and go into a battle uninhibited. A pity I couldn't impart that very idea to more people...

I think, perhaps, I shall be quite comfortable here for the duration of my stay--despite the menial nature of my tasks, which perhaps are designed only to test my mettle. Plans have been set in motion, contingencies laid, such that in my absence, the remainder of Akatsuki knows what to do.
