Dstl is changing how it engages with industry — and next week's session sets out what that means for delivery partners, strategic suppliers and SMEs. Fergus will explain how Defence Reform has shaped Dstl's position within the National Armaments Directorate Group, and introduce the Delivery Partnership Engagement model: an intelligence-led approach to building and maintaining the relationships that support current science and technology delivery and future capability needs. You will gain insight on: • What the Delivery Partnership Engagement model is designed to achieve and how it fits within the wider Dstl operating model • How Dstl is approaching outreach across industry, PAG and international partners to better understand the ecosystem • What dedicated relationship management for strategic suppliers, SMEs and critical suppliers will look like in practice • How improved communications will enable delivery partners to plan and contribute more efficiently to projects • How Dstl is focusing on building skills, delivery capacity and longer-term capabilities to support future science and technology needs If your organisation works with or is seeking to engage with Dstl, this session provides direct access to the team shaping how those relationships will develop. Demand for adult social care in Medway is rising month on month. The number of residents with dementia is projected to increase by 38% by 2040. And the council still needed to deliver millions of pounds in savings. The question was how to maintain quality while managing cost — and how to evidence decisions about care packages more rigorously. This case study from Intelligent Lilli sets out how Medway Council used smart home monitoring technology to do exactly that. You will gain insight on: • How discreet sensors and AI monitoring of everyday behaviours — eating, mobility, sleep, hygiene — generated the evidence base needed to right-size care packages and reduce unnecessary residential care referrals • How a weekly best practice panel, focused on packages above £400 per week, became the primary driver of scale and cultural change across the service • How the approach delivered over £1.5 million in savings and cost avoidance in the first year, with results demonstrable within weeks of adoption • How the technology supported early identification of health decline, gave families reassurance and enabled older people to remain in their own homes and communities for longer What has been your experience of building the internal culture change needed to embed data-driven decision making in adult social care? #techUKHSC #SocialCareTransformation #HealthTech Robert Walker | Rachel Kennedy | Lewis Stewart | Viola Pastorino ----------------------------- 🌱 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 🌍 https://orlo.uk/0cBAH

A new national centre for AI in policing has launched — and it changes the landscape for technology suppliers working in the sector. PoliceAI, hosted by the College of Policing, brings together operational policing expertise and AI capability under a single body with a clear mandate: responsible, transparent and trusted AI that delivers tangible benefits for officers, victims and the public. Its initial focus areas include automating case file preparation to speed up charging decisions, identifying and categorising child sexual abuse material to reduce officer exposure and support faster investigations, and AI-powered analysis of CCTV and digital evidence to generate early investigative leads. PoliceAI is also establishing the PoliceAI Threat Hub (PATH) to support forces in responding to the criminal misuse of AI, including deepfakes and emerging threats. For suppliers, this is the moment to understand PoliceAI's priorities, align product development with its emerging standards, and engage constructively with the governance frameworks being put in place. Which area of PoliceAI's work do you think will have the greatest impact on frontline policing? #techUKJES #PublicSafety #AI Dave Evans | Cinzia Miatto | Fran Richiusa ----------------------------- 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗨𝗞 techUK is a membership organisation that brings together people, companies and organisations to realise the positive outcomes of what digital technology can achieve. What happens when you go from managing a long-term condition through experience and educated guesswork to having continuous, real-time data about your own body? It's more confronting than you might expect. Angus Honeysett, Market Development Director and Chair of techUK Social Care Working Group, Tunstall, draws on his own six weeks of using continuous glucose monitoring after 37 years of living with type 1 diabetes. You will gain insight on: • Why more data does not automatically mean better decisions — and how the first weeks of continuous monitoring were some of the hardest he has experienced • How patterns that initially felt chaotic began to make sense over time, and why better control is iterative rather than immediate • What his personal experience reveals about the emotional and cognitive weight of continuous health visibility — and why that matters for how we design and deploy care technology • How continuous monitoring shifts care from reactive to preventative, and what that means for supporting people to live independently at home for longer For those working in care technology or commissioning: how do you help people build confidence with continuous data rather than being overwhelmed by it? #techUKHSC #SocialCareTransformation #HealthTech Robert Walker | Rachel Kennedy | Lewis Stewart | Viola Pastorino ----------------------------- 🌱 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 🌍 https://orlo.uk/bkVbi

Derbyshire County Council knew it was data rich. The problem was that the data was inconsistent, inaccessible and impossible to act on — leaving brokerage teams reliant on manual spreadsheets, insecure email transfers and processes that only worked when the right person was in the room. This case study from The Access Group sets out how Derbyshire connected its existing systems to transform commissioning — without replacing what was already in place. You will gain insight on: • How integrating Access Adam Care Commissioning directly with Access Mosaic eliminated manual data handling, reduced commissioning time from three days to two, and increased care offers received within two hours by around 20% • How removing email-based data transfers addressed longstanding compliance and security risks within the brokerage process • How the council gained full visibility of self-funder packages that were previously untraceable when clients moved or packages closed • How structured commissioning data is now shared directly with external providers, enabling them to model demand and plan capacity — the kind of commissioner-provider collaboration that national policy encourages but rarely sees delivered How are commissioners in your area approaching data sharing with providers — and what has been the biggest barrier to making it work in practice? #techUKHSC #SocialCareTransformation #HealthTech Robert Walker | Rachel Kennedy | Lewis Stewart | Viola Pastorino ----------------------------- 🌱 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 🌍 https://orlo.uk/9WtzZ

National security is not a closed market — but navigating it as an SME requires knowing how it works and who to talk to. Next week's session brings together two of the most senior figures in national security technology to give UK SMEs direct, practical guidance on entering and scaling within the national security and public safety supply chains. Speakers: • Dr Paul Killworth, Deputy Chief Scientific Advisor for National Security and National Security Innovation Champion, Cabinet Office • Gaven Smith, Advisor and Non-Exec, Former Director General for Technology and CTO, National Security You will gain insight on: • How the national security technology landscape is structured and where SME capability fits • How major suppliers rely on SMEs and what that means for routes into the market • Practical guidance on engaging with the sector from those who have shaped it This session is for UK-based technology and security SMEs looking to enter or scale within national security and public safety supply chains.
