Yes, THAT Jimbo. He needed someone to talk to someone about some wiki bot/programming stuff, and everyone pointed him at me. go figure.

it was really neat to talk to him. Was scary as hell. mostly that normal "your famous, i shouldnt be talking to you, or be in same room" feeling. that went away pretty fast once i realized that behind that face/persona is a normal everyday geek like the rest of us. then once he went away, back to the stunned. they tell me that feeling goes away if i was around him more, but still, kinda... yeah. wow.

in retrospect, i should have asked to get a picture with him, would have made the trip. but that would have seemed kinda awkward to ask. mentally, he can be famous, or he can be your boss, not both. i choose boss, because it makes *me* less nervous. too bad he's not going to be in tomorrow, of i would risk asking anyway.

i'm gonna make it a point to get pics of the office tomorrow and get them posted. i promise.

it really is a great place to work at, both the office and the people. more the people. its the dream job i've always wanted, i'm not sure how i'm going to leave this place.

i'm going to start posting my eq2 /feedback's. mostly as a personal log of stuff i've sent in, and also for feedback (whoa, had a meta moment). (really wish i would have started this sooner)
------
now that there are "free" bells to take you to TS and NEK docks, rather then removing the npcs that sold the "for pay" one way tickets, why not convert them into druid ring portal casters? sorta

for a fee (see below) they will sell you a "something", just like the current ticket->bell system, that lets you click on the swirling portal (steal the current druid ring portal, just leave one "open" next to them at all times, similar to the vortex in kelethin), to pick your destination of the full list of druid rings active in the world. you dont even have to filter the list by current players flags, just do the check on click, the same way its done now.

that lets you recycle the bell ticket npc's in qeynos and freeport, and as for kelethin, just have that talking treant near the vortex sell the "tickets" (sorry, no idea on the other 2 cities)

this would be a far greater service for people then a 1way trip to ts/nek that is now useless

even with a heavyer fee, such as 1g, people would use this a lot.

from what i hear, one of the guild hall addons will be something similar, so why not make this available for everyone in the city too?

Poland, a land without vowels and roads
worse than Ohio
08.25.08

Eat pierogies in Poland. Done.

I was going to write a really long post about my trip to Poland, but now that I can feel my butt again, I am not so motivated. The long and the short of it is that when your boyfriend calls you to invite you to a biking week in Poland, you should ALWAYS ask EXACTLY how far you will be biking (and note 8o kilometers is a long way, baby - that's more than three marathons), and DON'T FORGET to inquire as to the quality of the roads you will be biking on - hilly? Sandy? FULL OF POTHOLES? And if he doesn't know, do your own research. If you are thinking of a biking holiday in Poland, we can cut straight to the chase, and I can tell you: the roads are hilly, sandy, and full of potholes. If you are really into non-stop spankings and having your teeth rocked right out of your head, this is the perfect holiday for you. Also, please note, that your boyfriend will say the worst pain you have experienced in your life is your fault if you neglect to tell him beforehand that you have not really ridden a bike since the third grade, especially if he is European (apparently all Europeans ride bikes, and 78 year old women are the fastest).

It's even better if you are looking to lose weight and really aren't into jello, because all food in Poland comes encased in jello. To get to the food, you must break through the gelatinous barrier - kind of like how some people freeze their credit cards. No eatski for youski, oinkinkski.

The sucktastic parts aside, we slept on a boat, saw a bunch of swans, mud-covered boys like something out of the Lord of the Flies, a castle, and a calliope, and visited Hitler's wolf's lair. We were chased by bees, encouraged to pop in and out of our dinner chairs like jack-in-the boxes to polka music, and Marco got to tell a horse, "I hate you." We also saw a baby beaver, and I got to teach Marco some new American slang.

All in all, I have no intention of ever returning to Poland again, but...you never know where life will take you.
