James has been a member of the Father Sidney B. Parker chapter of UBE for many years, as well a regular participant in Regional and National Annual Business Meetings.
His family has been members of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, Jacksonville, FL, since 1982. Over the years, he served multiple times on the vestry and holds lay licenses as an Eucharistic Minister and Visitor, Worship Leader and Catechist, Preacher, and Pastoral Care Minister. He represented his parish several times as a diocesan delegate and served on the diocesan Disciplinary Board. He is currently a lay deputy at the General Convention and has represented his diocese on several occasions.
James supports the preservation of the history and heritage of his parish and UBE in the local diocese. He strives to ensure the local Episcopal Church community invites the inclusion of people of all colors and works to educate them that God loves us all. He also wants to ensure the diocesan congregations of color and UBE remain strong, both spiritually and fiscally, in order to sustain themselves.
James has been a licensed real estate broker for over 40 years and was an Investigator Supervisor with the Florida Division of Real Estate for 25 years. He currently provides instruction to members of Florida Realtors and the greater community, as well as working with real estate companies to ensure they comply with state laws and regulations.
