It wasn't as much a view as it was a moment. When I was in Old Town Warsaw a few years ago, seeing double, stubbling around to find water to take advil with. I was walking to a store and at 5 the siren went off for the W-hour, or the hour that the Polish Uprising began. Everyone on those streets stopped walking, even people on the main square stopped walking and gave a moment of silence. At that time, it was mostly tourists too. It was amazing.

What is your favorite food from each food group?
1. Bread (Grain) Group:
Artisan bread made in Europe.
2. Meat (Protein) Group:
I love pork, but in the US Beef is way better.
3. Vegetable Group:
Tomatoes, I think. This one is hard. Lots of choices.
4. Fruit Group:
Banana's or Cherries from my Aunt and Uncles backyard. On second thought, maybe raspberries.
5. Sugars, Fats and Oils:
Fried Potatoes. Any form probably.

In class I was told that taking river water isn't good. Then I was told that taking ground water via wells isn't good because you are either making a sinkhole or stealing water or depriving the local ecosystem of water. So my question is, where can you get water without it baing bad. Because, well, I hate to break it to you, but even though they are arrogant, play god, and manipulative, humans are part of the ecosystem, too.

I wouldn't do it. Because I personally have an ability to think for myself and I would know that I would find it immoral. While leaning on God for many things is comforting, I don't need God to tell me which actions are moral. Same goes for the government, they're great when you need them, but a governing body shouldn't say what is/is not moral. Plus, what to one person is a terrorist, to another is a freedom fighter.

I'm pretty sure that the reason I'm so scared of the dark and of forests and night has to do with a past life.

I'm also pretty sure that I was somehow involved in the World Wars. Watching movies from these times makes me feel very comfertable, but I hate certain stereotypes that are of this time, which I think also adds to it. I don't think I was ever a prisoner at a concentration camp.

1. If you were to have a scholarship created in your honor, what qualities would you look for in applicants (leadership, service, GPA, etc.)?

People would need to have a low GPA, but they would still need to be hard working. As in aiming for an A, but getting lower grades.

2. Who would be eligible to apply for your scholarship (members of a certain major, ethnic group, sexuality, etc.)?

People interested in ethnomusicological studies of Polish decent. You would need to speak, read and write Polish fluenty.

3. Would it be need-based or not? Why?

It would be need-based. Because poor people need money, why else?

5. If you made applicants write an essay, what would the topic be?

I would require two. One on the topic that they would want to study and one on their best vacation in Poland.

That was a lot of driving. I'm still clenching my teeth. But if it weren't for the sole semi driver I was following in the 55 mph highway, I don't know if I would have managed. I would have been alone with no lights or cars or anything within eye sight. So as much as blazing through at 80 would have been quicker, it wouldn't have been as safe and sane as it was thanks to that very curteuous semi driver. Thank you, Milan employee.

Dearest Professor,

You find it disrespectful that I was late, unwarmed up, and asking for no comments. I'd be pissed off too.

a) I was trying to warm up for a few minutes. You're always running late anyways.

b) I didn't wake up because I was reading until 2 am. Remember how you always told me to prioritize? Yeah, well since the anthro department doesn't hate me, I need to do their homework. Which is a lot since I'm taking to seminar classes. On top of that the last few days i've been practicing for 2-3 hours.

c) I really wanted to play all the material I was working on and get helpful comments instead of working on three excerpts and practicing them with you. Now you think I can't play the material, when I think I can.

I also find it disrespectful when you give me a lesson at 9:30 in the morning after I tell you that I have class. Because I do and I have homework to do. I'm also not a morning person and a lesson at 9:30 is actually a lesson at 8 since I have to wake up then and be at the con by 8:30. I alsl find it disrespectful that you told me I would have a lesson at 4 pm yesterday, but then said opps sorry, I double booked myself. I had practiced, warmed up, and listened to the music to have it in my ear. That was three hours in which I could have been reading my homework that I had to do at 12 am which caused me to be late for your 9:30 lesson.

But that you for being so fucking flexible and accommodating that you gave me a lesson when you give others 3-4 a week.
