- there are concrete reasons for so many of these questions too. cannibalism is bad because it creates/allows for a demand for human meat that can be impossible to regulate. imagine organ trade but you don't even need real medical knowledge.i think it's important to ask seemingly dumb and obvious moral questions like "why is cannibalism bad" and evaluate it rigorously bc answers like "its just disgusting and evil" are not enough and is the same reasoning used to propagate things like homophobia
- i just saw someone say "i hope they dont add singing" i didnt even think of that as an option. i didnt even. i dont think that can happen. they wont let that happen.
- Replying to @theswordwizardincest is bad because it's most commonly a site for intense and sustained abuse committed against some of the most vulnerable members of our society, who can be completely, legally, controlled by their abusers. the way its fetishized is a facet of patriarchal ownership culture.
- regarding that art space about drawing poc/disabled/fat people: you aren't obligated to draw hands either, but if every drawing of a person you make is with their hands behind their back, you will never be taken seriously as an artist. people can tell you're missing something.
- dungeon meshi is about cooking and eating and sharing a meal but also everything that comes with it, including killing, dying, and the messy parts of having to consume to survive. we become a part of the food webs of any ecosystem we inhabit, we're not above them.
- Replying to @theswordwizardone of the most valuable classes i took in college was a philosophy class Logical Thinking About Moral Arguments because every discussion like this can be broken down to figuring out how to break larger seemingly "vibes based" questions down and respond.
- Q Hayashida unmatcheddefine "peak female character design."
- Replying to @theswordwizardsomeone pointed out that whether the state can regulate something isnt a great basis for morality (real) but its why cannibalism kind of has to be constantly culturally agreed upon as still being "bad" (which is already a reduction of morality or practicality).
- like of course its not gonna happen, itll never happen, and itll never happen in a million years. but. fujimoto did make fire punch.
