- If I could cover baseball games right now, I swear I would not complain about sitting under two blankets, wearing winter boots, gloves, two shirts and two layers of coats. I always whined and moaned about that before. I would not do it now.
- Not something you see every day. Cary-Grove’s @QuinnPriester Priester signed baseballs for several minutes after the Trojans lost to Hampshire, 5-4, for the 4A McHenry Sectional championship. The boys know Priester likely will be drafted in the first round on Monday.

- Huntley 35, Prairie Ridge 28, final. Red Raiders end the state’s longest winning streak at 30 games.
- I'd like to thank Cary-Grove (2004, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2018), Prairie Ridge (2011, 2016, 2017), Richmond-Burton (2011) and Johnsburg (2016) for all these trips to the state football championships in the last 15 years. It never gets old. That's nine in the last 10 years.
