In @Newsweek, @ZephyrTeachout & I write how the #TikTok case has hindered #BigTech's use of First Amendment doctrines. TL/DR: the 1A can no longer be used as a tool for them to smother our liberties or act with reckless abandon.
Gotta love it. The same party that has banned Google, Meta, X, and so many more US companies is lecturing us on the principles of free markets and trade.
Mao Ning having a whinge about the prospects of a #TikTok ban in the US. When it comes to hypocrisy the #CCP Party State is the world’s stand alone superpower. Have a listen
The idea that we need @Google to maintains its unlawful monopoly to beat China in #AI is such a lazy & comically bad argument. Yeah, the same company that helped create a censorship machine for the CCP is the same one who will help us beat China. 😂
It's true. Apple's ties to the CCP is incredibly troubling. The New York Times reported on Apple’s dealings with China. In it, the Times found that China’s President, Xi Jinping, is increasingly exerting influence over the tech behemoth, especially as it relates to Apple’s
Apple is the second most China-exposed company in the U.S.
Its high score on @StrategyRisks new index reflects a mix of potential problems, including supply chain dependence, partnerships with CCP and state-owned firms, and forced labor/human rights.

Another reason why no American should consider any #BigTech company a “national champion.” Each one of them would sell us up the river to China for a quick buck.
.@mrddmia 💯!
Google, for example, negotiated “with the Chinese government to develop a censored search engine known as Project Dragonfly.” There’s strong evidence to suggest that Meta may have provided the Chinese Communist Party with “AI tools” to surveille its citizens. Apple

Not shocking: a @tiktok_us trend lures kids to online predators.
Shocking (but not really): @apple still rates it 12+ and lists it as an “essential app”
.@Apple’s failure to diversify its supply chain has allowed the CCP to make China into the global tech powerhouse it is today. Apple is no longer an American company. Thus, any assistance the US gives it only helps our greatest foreign adversary & puts us further away from a true
Apple fundamentally misunderstood its transaction with China. As @Lingling_Wei writes, "They thought they were hiring a contractor. Beijing knew it was running an apprenticeship."
In the process, Apple built the industrial capacity of America's chief foreign adversary.
When a D.C. Circuit judge causally cites your and @rachelbovard’s articles on a @FedSoc panel to share skepticism that gov’t jawboning is the reason #BigTech censors certain political views. 🙌
.@Google’s #privacy defense in the Search case is a complete head fake. Its goal is to scare you so as to ensure its monopoly over your data remains intact. Ironically, privacy is a reason why the court should adopt @JusticeATR’s proposal.
President Trump picking @JDVance1 makes clear that #BigTech’s abuses of our free markets & consumer welfare are coming to an end no matter who is in the White House. It is a sign of good times for American consumers indeed. @NewsweekOpinion
The fact that a “misunderstanding” w/ @Apple could kill a company like @Twitter is a market failure. Most apps relying on Apple’s App Store don’t have Elon Musk’s access to Tim Cook. Reforms like OAMA are necessary to help other #freespeech apps fight against #BigTech censorship.
Good conversation. Among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store. Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so.
I explain in @TheHillOpinion that hundreds of apps on @Apple’s #AppStore openly admit to providing sensitive data to China. Worst of all, Apple promotes them to consumers all while touting how safe its store is.
