From our farms to Costco shelves in Mexico - Canadian quality is making its mark. Today's ribbon-cutting celebrates the arrival of Canadian beef in 42 stores nationwide, along with other products. A great example of how partnership drives growth for both our countries.

- I’m honoured to be named Canada’s Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food. Agriculture is essential to so many communities across the country and at home on PEI. I’m grateful to Prime Minister @MarkJCarney for the trust he’s placed in me and I’m ready to get to work!Canada has a new government. No matter how you voted, we are in your service. Together, we will build a stronger, more united Canada.
- Very interesting comments from a very well recognized Chantel Hebert. #respectedjournalistAs @ChantalHbert said a few years ago "Media has engaged in the business of CLICK-BAITING" "Language & titles have become more and more aggressive to get those clicks" "OP-EDS have become more slap-in-your-face than a think-piece" Just Normalizes An Aggressive Tone #cdnpoli
00:00 - Article that explains why Islanders and Atl. Canadians are at a disadvantage. It costs Islanders 47.87 for home heating oil compared to 12.00 it would cost a home in Sask. using natural gas generating the same amount of heat. #equality #peipoli #heatpumps
- The first time we met, @MarkJCarney and I talked about reducing tolls on the Confederation Bridge. We made a commitment during the election campaign, and now we’re delivering on it. Starting August 1, tolls will be $20. It’s a great day for Islanders — and for Canada.
- Starting today, tolls on the Confederation Bridge will only be $20 and ferry fees are being cut in half. That's good for tourism, business, trade and keeping our country connected.
- Let me be clear: We don’t dump our canola. Our farmers work hard to deliver the best products in the world and we play by the rules when it comes to trade. Today’s news is concerning, but we will be there to support the sector, diversify our trade, and build Canada strong.
- I just texted @sidneymacewen to tell him have safe fishing season and he replied: All ready to role and sent this spectacular picture. #primaryindustry #staysafe #ruralpei #proudofwhoweare
- Let’s be clear, $10 a day CHILDCARE is one of the most important topics at the doors for young families. @PEIPolNews #peipoliOnly 6,600 families would receive the maximum $6,000 refundable tax credit the Tories say they’ll create, according to a report from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. #CdnPoli #Elxn44 ipolitics.ca/2021/08/27/fam…
- Connected with a number of my provincial counterparts and some key stakeholders this afternoon, with more to go. Getting settled into my new role and feeling motivated by the work ahead — serving and supporting our hardworking producers.
- Extremely important in Atlantic Canada and in particular PEI with over 40% of families heating their homes with oil. We are moving in the right direction with PEI having approx 50% of homes have already installed heat pumps.See a problem, Find a solution. We’re getting people off home heating oil and on to heat pumps. It’ll save them a lot of money. And any Province and Territory can get on board.
00:00 - This is not surprising that a member of the CPC doesn’t understand the importance of our seafood 🦞 industry in Atl 🇨🇦It drives economic wealth and creates sustainability in our coastal communities but that doesn’t seem to matter to @MelissaLantsman @CanadasFoodIsl @PEIFishAssocAlways with the Lobster with these guys… Canadians are visiting food banks in record numbers, and people are having to choose between filling up their car, heating their home and feeding their family. - Canada grows more than crops - we grow trust. During our visit to Oleomex, Mexico's second largest importer and crusher of Canadian canola seed, they shared plans to double imports of Canadian canola in about 3-5 years. They see the high value in Canadian canola, and so do we.
- After the tragedies over the past few days , I want to acknowledge and thank our first responders, who answer the call(s) You have a tough job and it does not go unnoticed. We thank you and your families. #safercommunities
