I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as iOS Developer at Paramount+! Being a full-time iOS developer at such an amazing company has been a goal of mine since I first became a Computer Science major in college. This is truly a dream come true for me.

Apple will never add this feature because it is not needed. When I was working at apple, the documentation made a point to be clear apps do not need to be force closed in order to improve performance because they are in a suspended state

It’s not just that it’s not needed. It’s that Apple doesn’t want you to force close your apps. Probably for a few reasons but one reason is that keeping them open allows them to launch faster next time you open it, which creates faster feel/ better experience

Whether you’re a total beginner or an experienced UIKit developer switching to SwiftUI, it can often be difficult to grasp how 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 works in SwiftUI. The truth is, it’s a lot simpler than most people think and I am going to explain it clearly in a short thread 🧵👇

Am I alone in the fact that web development doesn’t interest me at all? It seems like that’s what 80% of software devs love to do and talk about, but for me it’s all iOS dev. I don’t know why web dev is so uninteresting to me

Many people say SwiftUI is easier than UIKit. I don’t think it’s easier. I think it is faster. There’s a difference.

Diving deeper into #SwiftUI 🚀 Yesterday, we explored how the @ State property signals SwiftUI to refresh views upon property changes. But what about passing data between views? Enter the topic of the day: @ Binding. Let’s unravel this 🧵👇

A few months ago I felt like such a mediocre iOS Developer. I look back at my first projects and realize how I could have built them so much faster and easier knowing what I know now. The moral of the story is to keep coding. Keep building your projects. You will get better!
